Julian had an awkward expression on his face. Matthew was still next to him when Vernon was yelling into his phone about how he wanted to kill Matthew's entire family.

Julian was afraid that Matthew would be provoked and kill him off on a whim, so he secretly peeked at Matthew's face. To his surprise, Matthew looked completely calm.

A while later, Julian asked Vernon, "What should we do now, Mr. Fuller? Who will you send over next?"

Then, Vernon responded while gritting his teeth, "I'll do it myself."

Right after he said that, Vernon hung up the call.

Julian then looked at Matthew and asked carefully, "Was it good enough?"

Matthew replied coldly, "Update me on the situation when he comes over."

Though Matthew appeared to be calm, he harbored a strong killing intent deep within. However, he didn't bother himself with yelling and threatening Vernon over the phone because it would be better to just lie in wait for Vernon when he arrived.

Julian nodded in response and said, "Alright. I'll give you a call then."

Matthew nodded back and turned to leave. At once, Julian melted onto the bed weakly. He had been sweating all over anxiously, but it was finally over for now.

The door creaked as Matthew pulled it open. Coincidentally, he was met with a crying Kingston, and Matthew exclaimed in shock, "Didn't I tell you to stay put? It's dangerous here."

Kingston then turned on his side and hurriedly wiped his tears away. "The wind was too strong, and it blew some sand into my eyes."

Then, Matthew frowned and said, "I didn't ask why you're crying. I said that it's dangerous here, so why did you come?"

Upon hearing that, Kingston felt even more embarrassed. "I was scared that you'd die and that there'd be no one to clean up your corpse."

Though he might have said that, Kingston felt a bout of warmth in his heart because ever since his father passed away, no one had ever cared for him.

Matthew hummed in acknowledgment and walked off after he took a glance at the sniper rifle Kingston was holding onto.
