The Great Medical Saint (Matthew) novel Chapter 708

Matthew coldly remarked, "You're not afraid of dying anyway. What are you scared of?"

Kingston didn't know what to say. It wasn't so much that he was afraid of death, but he felt helpless in life and struggled to keep going.

Since Matthew showed up in the past couple of days, his life completely changed. The townspeople of Woolfields used to despise him and even wanted to kick him out of the town, but they started buttering him up now whenever they spotted him.

Then, there was Lifehaven Pharmaceuticals. Previously, they had already given him a beating twice, leaving him all bruised and battered. The third time, Julian even sent someone to kill him.

After coming into the picture, Matthew went straight for Julian and took him down, leaving him bedridden. Lifehaven Pharmaceuticals had to shut down operations.

If Matthew tossed every matter aside, Kingston couldn't imagine what would happen next.

Watching Matthew get in the car, Kingston sprinted over, opened the passenger door, and got in. "My apologies. It's all my fault that your family is in danger."

Matthew stayed quiet, thinking about how to find a foolproof and secure place for Stanley, Lillian, and Lorraine.

Realizing Matthew wasn't responding, Kingston added, "I've got both Plague Compendium and Miracle Healing Banner in my possession. I can bring them to you when I get home."

When Kingston got to that part, he glanced at Matthew to see his reaction. The latter didn't show any surprise or excitement.

Kingston regretted showing the medical book too late and explained, "It's not that I don't want to give it to you, but Dad died because of this. People always come at me with different identities to trick me. I'm just tired of being scammed.

"Dad protected those items with his life, and I've lived a miserable because of it. I've given up so much, and I'm scared that the Eastorians will take Plague Compendium away from me."

Matthew shook his head. "I'm not holding it against you. Just hang onto the medical book for now. I need to get home and sort things out for my family. You should take a cab back."

Kingston reached for the car door handle. After opening it, he suddenly closed it again. "I want to stick with you. I feel a lot safer when I'm around you."

It felt like Kingston had turned into a different person. The stubbornness he used to have was all gone.
