Watching the scene unfold, Leander was more excited than Tessa.
It had been more than a decade. No one knew what he had been through all this time. Only he knew the struggles he had faced.
After graduating from college, Leander was invited by his lecturer to join a company, but he turned it down. Since then, things had gone sour with his lecturer as his lecturer accused him of being ungrateful.
With all the pressure, he went ahead and started a company to work on the research on exoskeletons.
Leander never expected to have trouble finding funding. He even gave up his dignity as a researcher and started begging people for money. Eventually, he managed to secure funding, but the investor backed out just six months later.
He had no choice but to start searching for investors again. A month later, he found a rich tech entrepreneur. He thought he was finally done with money problems. What Leander didn't know was that this was just the start of his nightmare. Less than half a year in, the tech entrepreneur took his money out.
It seemed like he had been cursed. All the investors he found would pull out every six months. No one stuck around for more than half a year.
After spending more than a decade on this project, Leander had worked with more than 40 investors.
It was always the same story with every investor who pulled out. They said the exoskeleton idea wouldn't work and scolded him for being delusional like a madman.
The insults didn't stop there. The investors would express their regret in trusting him and investing in this project.
However, Leander finally succeeded.
With the exoskeleton, Tessa successfully smashed the table into pieces with one punch. The magnitude of it was insane.
Leander decided to invite those former investors to see the result for themselves so that they'd realize that pulling out was their biggest mistake. As he imagined their regretful look, he felt more thrilled.
He raised his hand and cheerfully stated, "Let's take a day off today. I'm treating you all to have a good time. I'm getting you the fanciest foods and the most expensive drinks."
The company account had less than one million dollars left, and it was barely enough to cover the expenses for a research organization. But he was convinced that today was the worst it would get.
With Tessa's performance in using the skeleton, there'd be no shortage of funds pouring into his company from now on.
The researchers in the room were jumping with joy. They had suffered too many hard times with Leander.
