Hearing this, Nathan frowned.
“B*st rd, where have you been?! Natalie suffered so much, yet you hid away like a coward!” After seeing Nathan, Luisa became furious and scolded him.
Nathan didn’t reply, he glanced at Luke and asked, “What’s going on? Why is Luke here?”
Luisa growled, “How dare you ask!”
“Yesterday Natalie went to collect the debt from Pedro Fisher of Negino Commerce, but she was forced to drink a whole bottle of wine! If Mr. Luke didn’t show up to save Natalie, she would suffer a lot!”
Hector’s face was also a little gloomy, and his eyes showed slight dissatisfaction when he looked at Nathan.
He said solemnly, “Nathan, since I entrusted Natalie to your care, you must take this responsibility.”
Luke smiled and said, “You don’t have to be too polite. Natalie and I are good friends, and this is what I should do! Plus, you don’t have to scold Nathan. He’s just a prison guard. It would be useless even if he showed up.”
“You don’t need to always thank me, I’m a bit embarrassed.”
After Nathan heard Luke’s words, he shook his head and laughed. “I rescued Natalie last night. When did it become your credit?”
Everyone was stunned.
Luke laughed and said, “You’re new here, so you need some credit to stand firm. I understand. Well… This matter has nothing to do with me. Nathan was the one who rescued Natalie. I just happened to come to visit her today!”
Luke’s words directly made Luisa extremely displeased with Nathan.
“Nathan, you have no ability, but Hector insisted on your marriage with Natalie, and I have nothing to say. People can be incompetent, but they can’t be shameless!”
“Luke saved Natalie, and you said it was your credit? How shameful! You are just a prison guard. How could you dare to offend the Negino Commerce?” Luisa stomped on Nathan’s dignity with no mercy.
A smug smile appeared on Luke’s face. And then, Natalie woke up, but her head still ached.
Natalie saw her family and felt relieved. She vaguely remembered last night and asked Luke in confusion, “Mr. Luke, did you save me last night?”
Luke smiled helplessly and said, “Natalie, it wasn’t me. It was Nathan who saved you.”
Luisa said loudly, “Mr. Luke, you are kind and willing to help this useless bast*rd, but I can’t stand it!”
“Natalie, Mr. Luke saved you last night. Otherwise, you don’t know what would happen! Your good husband had his phone turned off all night. How relaxing.”
Natalie also vaguely remembered that there was a man who had saved her. After hearing what her mother said, she looked gratefully at Luke.
“I seem to remember. Thank you, Mr. Luke. If you didn’t save me, I would have been miserable.” Natalie breathed a sigh of relief and thanked Luke.
Luisa became even more furious and said to Nathan, “What else do you have to say now?”
Nathan shrugged and said, “I asked Hannah to send Natalie back yesterday. If you don’t believe me, just ask her.”
