Chapter 438 The Actual Combat
In the morning, Gussie was on her way to Forest Park and happened to meet Natalie.
Natalie was running vigorously in sportswear with steady breaths and an energetic look.
“Natalie, you are doing morning exercises again! You have persevered for so long!” Gussie said in surprise.
“Yeah, good morning, Gussie. You’re still practicing with Nathan?” Natalie was also surprised and smiled at her.
Both of them stopped at the same time, talking while walking.
Gussie complained to Natalie about the strenuous process of practicing martial arts. Now she was forced by Nathan to do extra practice every day after work, which was a painful experience.
Natalie glanced at her bruised fingers and couldn’t help but admire her. It was not easy to persevere in such tormenting
practice.
Her life was not easy, too. She got up at four o’clock and worked from dawn to dusk every day.
After work, she also took time to learn various skills.
If it weren’t for the good care of her parents, she would have died suddenly from exhaustion.
“Cheer up, let’s go shopping together and relax someday!” Natalie smiled at Gussie and said.
“Okay!” Gussie agreed with alacrity, and the two parted at a fork in the road.
Gussie thought, “I have to work harder. Natalie wakes up so early for morning exercises and persists for so long. I can’t give up!”
When she ran to Forest Park, Julian hadn’t arrived yet. She saw Nathan squatting while rubbing the ball in his hand constantly..
“Hold it!” Nathan suddenly turned around and threw the ball over.
The ball was light at first glance, but when she heard the rattling sound it made when flitting through the air, she knew that it must be heavy. With her expression changed, she exerted all her strength and squatted to take it in a hurry.
She was taken aback as soon as the ball fell into her hands. It almost brought her whole body to the ground with its weight!
“What’s in it? It’s so heavy!” Gussie asked while holding the ball with difficulty.
This ball probably weighed 30 or 35 kilograms.
At the same time, she was also secretly surprised that her strength had grown so fast that she was able to hold such a heavy
ball!
Nathan said, “It is made of lead and is very heavy. Moreover, it tends to dangle around and is hard to control. I’ll teach you how to play it in a few days!”
Gussie’s heart sank at hearing his words. She didn’t want to play this ball. If she had to play it for a few minutes as Nathan did just now, she would not be able to lift her arms in a few days.
“Today you hold this while squatting,” Nathan said calmly..
Gussie agreed with a bitter smile, holding the big ball and squatting obediently.
She had just squatted for two minutes when Julian arrived. He was soon ready to practice under Nathan’s guidance.
After they finished the squat, it was time to practice the Wuxing Fists. Nathan instructed the two of them on the posture and the angle and strength of the punches.
Two hours of practice were finished, and the sky was already getting a little bright.
“That’s the end of today’s training. Gussie, come to me after work in the afternoon.” Nathan said.
Julian said with a sullen face, “Master, when can I do extra practice?”
Nathan said, “Once you have mastered the foundation of the three–body pose and the Wuxing Fists, you can practice other gestures. But, your comprehension is too poor, and I think you might as well quit the training.”
Julian didn’t dare to retort and kept saying that he would work hard and live up to Nathan’s expectation.
