Paul was puzzled. Then she picked up the contract, looked at it, and frowned.
“I remember you didn’t want to sell it before. What happened? You changed your mind?”
“I thought about it and realized it was just a mine that was about to be exhausted. If someone wants it, I’d better sell it…” Josua answered the suspicious question.
“It’s not that simple, is it?” Paul pointed out.
Then she chuckled and added, “It was 800 million before, but now it is only worth 300 million… 1.2 billion, take it or leave it! I am not going to rip off my friends. 800 million belongs to the Carter family. I’ll get 400 million.”
“You really think I’ll buy it? I don’t need it now,” Paul replied.
Josua’s face darkened. “You don’t need it? Then don’t blame me for not giving you a chance.”
“That’s right. I don’t want it. I changed my mind,” Paul answered coldly.
Josua realized that Paul was fooled by the illusions he had created, and now she really thought that Giradia Group needed money eagerly.
“Are you kidding me? I asked the Carter family to sell it to you because of you, and now you are telling me you don’t want it?” Josua raised his hand as if he was about to slap Paul.
“I said no! I’ve changed my mind! And did you say 1.2 billion? Are you serious? Do you think I am an idiot?” Paul sneered.
“You are right. You are an idiot,” Josua retorted.
Paul was stunned for a moment. “What I’m talking about is that you thought I was…”
“I thought what?” Josua asked.
Paul chuckled. “Nothing… It’s just funny to see you like that!”
Josua got the contract back from Paul. “Whatever! I have to give it back to the Carter family.”
Then Josua left the room.
They wanted me to buy the mine because Giradia Group needs money now.
Did he really think I would buy that mine for 1.2 billion dollars? Did he think I was that stupid?”
Ten…
Nine…
Eight…
Three…
Before Paul could finish her countdown, Josua came back from the door again, there was no sign of any rage on his face. All she could see was a bright smile.
“I was just kidding. I would never rip you off. For the sake of you being my old lover, I’ll give you a discount. How about one billion dollars?”
As soon as Josua finished his sentence, Paul slapped him hard.
She stared at Josua coldly. “Who is your old lover? I think you have misunderstood our relationship!”
Josua rubbed his temple and asked, “Do you want it or not? Don’t waste my time!”
“I do, but for 400 million dollars! Take it or leave it,” Paul shrugged and said with a teasing face.
“I really want to slap you!” Josua couldn’t help but raise his hand.
“Do it if you dare!” Paul sneered.
Josua reached out and pressed his hands on her chest. He didn’t want to slap her. Thus, he groped her to get his revenge.
Paul let out a scream and gasped. The wound on her chest hadn’t healed yet, and as he pressed, the heart-piercing pain almost made her faint.
“I would never hit a woman!” Josua laughed.
Paul was furious.
How could he be this despicable?
