Charles ran into his car and suddenly, he spotted a gun in the passenger’s seat.
He was consumed by vengeance and did not care how the gun got into his car. He wound down the window and pointed the gun at Nolan.
“Please take care of my parents’ funeral for me. Thanks.”
He then stepped on the pedal and drove off.
Nolan watched calmly as the car drove off. Everything was progressing as he planned.
He walked into the house and saw Xavier and Jessica, both dead in each other’s embrace. He sighed helplessly. He may have dragged the two of them into this mess, but he never thought of hurting them or making them take their own lives.
He made a call to his men and ordered them to give the elderly couple a proper burial.
Meanwhile, Stephen was going through the reports on the recent updates. Even though riot police were deployed to maintain order in the city, things did not improve. Quite the opposite, the dangerous men armed with guns were further stimulated, causing them to be more volatile than before.
They got anxious, hoping to seize whatever money they could get their hands on before fleeing, leading to even more casualties and robberies. They even raided the shops that were closed, breaking in through violent means.
Ganter and Austin were also robbed. Austin was shot in the leg, while Ganter was punched to the ground as the robbers took whatever valuables in the clinic.
After the robbers swept the place clean and fled, Ganter called for an ambulance, but he was told there were no ambulances available at that moment.
Stunned, he glanced at Austin. When he saw his protege’s thigh bleeding profusely, his face paled. The shot must have hurt Austin’s main artery, and Ganter quickly called Stephen for help.
Back in the office, Stephen’s phone rang, but he dared not answer it because Charles was right in front of him with a gun pointed at his face.
Charles said coldly, “It’s all because of you.”
Feeling pressured, Stephen asked nervously, “What is going on?”
He never would have thought that his assistant would one day point a gun in his face while consumed by anger. He had no doubt that Charles would put a bullet through his head if he said the wrong thing.
