The Heart I Gave The Love I Lost (Sarah and Alexander) novel Chapter 139

Chapter 130

Then Franklin’s younger brother, Yancy’s voice came from outside

Sisterinlaw, I heard you were sick. Are you feeling better now?”

Franklin hadn’t spoken yet when Franklin interjected, Come in.”

The door had been left open earlier as people had been coming and going from the room

Hearing Franklin’s voice, Yancy walked in from outside, first greeting Franklin, Brother.”

Franklin responded with a simple, Hmm

Yancy’s gaze then fell on Maggie. Though the two hadn’t interacted much, he knew she wasn’t entirely sure how to engage with him. Maggie took the initiative, saying, I’m feeling

much better now.”

Yancy scratched his head awkwardly, Oh, that’sgood to hear.”

Maggie smiled gently. Have you not been back here for a while?”

YeahI missed the food here, so I came back for a bit. As soon as I got back, Grandma mentioned you were running a fever.”

At this moment, Grandma Wilson came upstairs. Seeing that Maggie’s complexion had improved, she seemed more at ease. The kitchen’s finished preparing the soup

Mr. Stanley said you can have some now. Would you prefer to come downstairs and have it, or should Frank bring it up to you?”

Maggie hadn’t eaten much earlier and didn’t have much of an appetite. Feeling a little stifled staying in her room, she decided to join Grandma Wilson and the others downstairs

Once downstairs, Yancy asked, Where’s Isabella?”

Chapter 130

Grandma Wilson replied, She ate a little earlier but couldn’t drink much. I’ll have her drink a bit more later.”

After sitting down, Maggie accepted the soup the butler handed her and began sipping it slowly, cooling it with gentle breaths

Franklin sat next to her, but his phone buzzed with a message. Perhaps trying to prevent her from seeing the screen, he shifted slightly away and began replying to the message

Maggie noticed but said nothing, continuing to drink her soup quietly

Grandma Wilson frowned, Can’t it wait until after the soup?”

It’ll just take a minute,Franklin replied

The bowl of soup was quickly finished

Would you like some more?Grandma Wilson asked

Maggie shook her head and stood up. No, thank you. I’m full.”

Even though Franklin had slightly turned away, as she rose, Maggie caught a glimpse of his phone screen. He seemed to be texting Julia, discussing some project matters

Sensing that she might have noticed, Franklin moved further away

Maggie, however, had already withdrawn her gaze, walking to the living room and picking up a newspaper to read

A short while later, Yancy came over with a plate of freshly washed fruit, offering her some

Maggie looked up. No, thank you. You can have it.”

Looking up, she saw that Franklin had already left the dining room, his phone still in hand, as he made his way upstairs. She withdrew her gaze again

Yancy sat down next to her and glanced at her a couple of times. Noticing this, Maggie asked, What is it?”

Chapter 130

Well, my brain isn’t as sharp as you or my brother’s when it comes to mudying you how? I’ve got a few physics problems I can’t solve

Maggie blinked, but before she could respond. Yancy continued. I wanted to ask my brother for help, but he said he was busy and told me to ask you instead.”

Maggie paused for a moment, then took his test papers without a word

Yancy was a decent student with a solid foundation. After Maggie locked over his papers and explained the thought process for a few problems, he quickly underwood

Wow, you’re amazing, sisterinlaw! Thank you!”

After understanding the problems, Yancy haphazardly gathered his papers and pens. exclaiming, Finally, I can play on my phone!”

Maggie chuckled softly, setting aside the newspaper she had nearly finished. Feeling a bir more refreshed, she thought about heading upstairs to grab a book to pass the time

Yancy leaned over, whispering, Sisterinlaw, my idol participated in another car race recently. She was even cooler this time! I’ve got the video. Want to watch?”

Maggie froze for a moment, her smile fading slightly. No, thanks. I’m not really into car

racing.”

Really?Yancy looked surprised, thinking she’d be interested. But that day, you were watching with binoculars for so long. I thought you liked it too

Maggie replied calmly, I saw a few acquaintances that day.”

OhSeeing her lack of interest, Yancy didn’t push it. He turned back to rewatch Julia’s race footage. I really miss her. She didn’t participate in this race, and who knows when I’ll see her again, sigh…

Maggie stood up, saying, I’m going upstairs to get a book.”

Okay, sisterinlaw! Even though you’re feeling better, you should still get plenty of rest!”
