Chapter 153
Maggie turned to see Tommy running toward her, carrying a cheerful expression.
Tommy spoke up, “Auntie, my mom wanted me to give you some cookies last night, but you weren’t home, so I took them back.”
Before Maggie could respond, Isabella, who had been listening, snorted and said, “You’re lying! My mom was definitely at home last night.”
Tommy scratched her head in confusion. “Huh? Was she? But then why…”
Before Maggie could clarify, Isabella’s teacher called her name, “Miss Miller.”
“Teacher,” Rong Ci replied.
Teacher told Isabella and Tommy to go inside the classroom, as she needed to speak with
Maggie.
After the two children went in, Teacher turned to Maggie and said, “Next week, the school is having a parent–child activity. Are you aware of it, Miss?”
Maggie shook her head. “I didn’t know. Isabella hasn’t mentioned it.”
Teacher seemed to hesitate for a moment before continuing, “Well…”
She had her suspicions but still felt the need to confirm it.
Maggie replied, “Anyone can accompany her for the event.”
Her attitude had been clear a few times before–she didn’t intend to participate in anything related to the event herself.
Sighing, Teacher said, “Alright, I understand.”
After thanking her, Maggie turned and left the school.

Chapter 153
Once she got back to the company, not long after, she was informed that Julia and Logan
had arrived again.
The last time they came was more of a casual visit, but neither she nor Johnny had ever intended to cooperate with the Brown family.
When Johnny received the news, he immediately instructed his staff to send them away.
Not long after, Johnny received a phone call.
Seeing the caller ID, he glanced at Maggie.
Maggie looked
“Franklin?”
“Yes.”
Maggie had already guessed the reason for Franklin’s call and continued working without reacting.
Johnny picked up the phone. “Mr. Wilson.”
On the other end of the line, Franklin said, “Mr. Gray, how about we have a meal together
later?”
Johnny, disinterested in any pleasantries, immediately replied, “Mr. Wilson, is this call on behalf of the Brown family?”
Franklin responded, “Yes.”
Johnny smiled faintly and made it clear to Franklin, “Mr. Wilson, Cole will never cooperate with the Brown family. I believe there’s no need for me to explain the reasons.”
Without waiting for Franklin to speak, Johnny added, “Moreover, the proposal you brought from Wilson Corporation was indeed good.
However, if we are to cooperate, I have one condition: During our collaboration, you must guarantee that no member of the Brown family or the Green family will have any access to our projects.”

Chapter 153
“If that’s not possible, then there’s no need for further discussion. Mr. Wilson, have I made myself clear?”
Franklin replied, “Very clear.”
Johnny said, “Alright, Mr. Wilson, goodbye.”
After hanging up, Johnny didn’t receive another call from Franklin.
In the following days, even Wilson Corporation ceased to contact them.
It was as though Franklin, for Julia’s sake, was willing to give up the opportunity for
cooperation.
And indeed, this was the case.
Two or three days later, Johnny heard that Wilson Corporation had set up a project team to develop a new project.
Julia and the Green family would be involved in the new project.
Though it was a bit of a loss not to cooperate with Wilson Corporation, there were still many large companies in the country with a similar scale.
Cole wasn’t reliant on Wilson Corporation.
That Friday evening, Nolan came back.
