The Heart I Gave The Love I Lost (Sarah and Alexander) novel Chapter 27

Chapter 20

Over the years of knowing her, he always thought Maggie was beautiful and gentle. After marriage, she never initiated arguments with his brother and was always very understanding of him

If his future wife were like her, he would definitely treat her with utmost care

Because of this, even after growing up and learning the whole story, he still quite liked

Maggie

Seeing that Maggie seemed unhappy, and guessing it had something to do with his brother, he scratched his head and said sincerely

Sisterinlaw, you’re such a good person. My brother will surely see that someday. Don’t be

too sad.”

Maggie paused, not wanting to explain about their impending divorce, and smiled, Mm

thank you, York.”

I’m going downstairs for a drink. It’s getting late, sisterinlaw, you should rest early.”

Maggie smiled, Okay, good night.”

Back in the room, Maggie turned off the main light, switched on the bedside lamp, and lay

down

She had just settled in when she heard Franklin’s footsteps entering the bedroom

Maggie opened her eyes

Franklin looked at her too, their eyes meeting

Maggie watched him

In the past, she would have gotten up to help hang his suit, happily found his pajamas, and

gone to the bathroom to run his bath water…

But now, she had no intention of getting up, and slowly closed her eyes instead

Although Franklin was indifferent toward Maggie and dismissed her usual thoughtful care, he naturally noticed how different her attitude was from before, sensing her coldness

He was somewhat surprised

But he assumed she was just being moody, and didn’t take her unusual behavior seriously

He didn’t even want to know why she was upset, and said coldly, Bella’s school enrollment is done. You’ll take her to school tomorrow morning.”

Maggie, I understand.”

Franklin said nothing more, turning to the closet to find clothes for his shower

This was how he treated her

Maggie watched his back, thinking about their divorce, somewhat wanting to ask when they could go get their divorce certificate

But Franklin was truly busy, and with his personality, once he had taken care of all the procedures, he would contact her without her having to remind him

After all, compared to her, he was the one who wanted the divorce more

It was precisely because of this that she had quietly waited for his news these past two weeks, never once pressing him about it

Just then, Franklin’s phone rang

Maggie noticed how different his hellosounded compared to when he spoke to her on the

phone

His tone was gentle

Maggie immediately guessed it was Julia on the other end

As she thought this, whatever was said made Franklin release his hold on the closet door

and say, I’ll come right now.”

With that, he quickly left the room without looking back

Maggie watched him leave without calling out to stop him

A moment later, she heard a car

Franklin had left the mansion

Maggie closed her eyes, calmly turned off the light, and went to sleep

The next morning

Because she had to take Isabella to school, Maggie woke up just after six

She was alone in the room; Isabella hadn’t returned since leaving last night

Maggie no longer cared
