The Heart Of The Beast The Alpha's Pawn (Sonia and Ramon) novel Chapter 25

Chapter 25

SONIA’S POV

We found the staircase, and I couldn’t stop laughing as we climbed up to the top of the building.

Wow, it’s beautiful!I screamed, looking around.

I could see most of the pack from the top of the building, and it stole my breath away.

I didn’t think there was a

view like this before.

It’s beautiful right? Absolutely stunning.”

I nodded in agreement, when my eyes stumbled on a big field.

What’s that?I asked, pointing towards the scenery I had just seen.

Oh, that’s the training ground. I think they’re training.Ivy replied, creeping up on me.

My eyes began to trail, around, and for some reason, I held my breath. The second my eyes fell on him, my heart rate skyrocketed.

There he stood, a staff in his hand as he addressed the crowd of warriors. My brow snapped together as I grew curious. My legs moved forward on their own accord, as I stared at what was happening from that distance.

What are they doing?I asked Ivy who had also moved along with me.

They’re training. Usually, Daniel trains the new warriors. I think the alpha has decided to step in today.

I heard the awe in her voice, but pretended not to hear it. She always spoke so highly of Ramon, despite his behaviour. One too many times, it had made me curious, but it wasn’t something I wanted to push. I decided to push it to the back of my mind, and focus on what I was watching.

One after the other, wolves began to step forward. With one staff in one hand, Ramon fought them all.

He used every part of his body except the hand which was holding the staff.

I had never experienced such shows of sheer power before. Maybe because back at home, they never allowed me to draw close to the training ground.

I only overheard pack members discussing how my brothers trained. They said it was like a battlefield.

He was just the same. He was shirtless, showing off his rippling muscles.

My wolf awoke, watching him in excitement. As he moved with the grace of a serpent, destroying all that stepped into his path, my wolf craved him more.

Hes so-

Graceful. He’s graceful, and that my dear is the reason he is the alpha.

Wow!It was the only thing that could leave my throat as I watched him defeat man after man, until there was no one left.

When he threw the staff to the ground, I shuddered, as if being pulled out of a trance. Instantly I knew I could never get the image of what I just witnessed out of my head.

He was just as strong as he was powerful. It made me wonder if my father stood a chance.

We had the numbers, but there was just a grace to how he moved. If he could have his warriors replicate that same movement,

it would be difficult to see a victorious path for us.

I’m scared, Ivy,I suddenly voiced out.

Scared? Why?She asked.

I’m counting on my family winning the war to finally return home. But with what I’ve just witnessed, I’m not exactly sure that’s going to happen.”

Why? You have seven brothers and a pretty powerful father. I think it’s an even battle. There’s a chance for victory.

Are you sure? I thought it would be easy because of how much victory I’ve heard my pack has. I’m not sure anymore.

Don’t stress about it, Sonia. You’ll see, everything will come out good. I already told you it will.

I returned my eyes to Ramon. He was addressing the wolves now. They had risen to their feets after being flung about by him.

Maybe he saw my father winning and decided to train his fighters himself. Everything pointed to a worrying direction. I didn’t think I would be able to sleep without another nightmare tonight.

I was still in my thoughts when a still only formed.

One second, everyone was turning curious faces, the next, a breeze like wind shot forward, and in a blink, jumped on Ramon,

He fell to the ground, with the intruder on his body. Kicking her out, he rose to his feet, picked her up from the ground, and brought his hand to her neck..

She held his neck too. They remained like that, choking each other, until finally, she removed her hands, and began to laugh. He pulled away too, but she wrapped hers around his neck, and kissed him.

My brow shot up, as my wolf revolted. I knew enough of Lorena to know this wasn’t her. She was more graceful, more beautiful, from the little I had seen.

Who is she?I muttered, as they pulled apart.

My shock escalated when the wolves started to bow their heads to her.

That’s Alpha Daisy.”

She’s an alpha?I gasped.

Yes. Alpha of redmoon. She’s amazing!Ivy beamed.

I turned when I heard the excitement in her voice. She must be really close to Ramon,I said, unable to hide the irritation in my voice.

She turned to me and laughed. Why? Are you jealous? She asked.

No, just wondering how she’s so bold. At least now I know it’s because she’s an alpha.”

Not just that. She’s pretty close to Ramon. They’ve been friends for a very long time.

Friends or lovers?I asked, scoffing.

Ivy threw her head back and laughed heartily. You’re definitely jealous, my friend. It’s expected though. He’s your mate after all. But, come with me, I’ll tell you all about Alpha Daisy.

I wasn’t sure I wanted to hear about her. She had kissed him in front of everyone, and he had allowed her. Even right now, she cupped his face in her hand as they talked.
