The Heiress Nobody Saw Coming (Natalie and Marcus) novel Chapter 557

"Alright, we'll do as you say. Have someone take Charlene back to the hospital where you were swapped in Amberton," Kenton agreed without hesitation, then waved someone over and ordered them to take Charlene away.

Selena smiled brightly and nodded. "Great-Uncle Kenton, you're so cool."

"Selena, you may not be my granddaughter, but your personality is just like mine. I never had children in this life. From now on, all of my assets will go to you," Kenton said.

He thought Selena was twisted and ruthless enough—and he was proud of that. Kind people got trampled on, just like Natalie back then.

In the Langley family, she had been bullied and abused for being too kind—especially by Diana.

Selena was twisted and ruthless enough. Otherwise, she wouldn't have survived all those years being sold from one place to another.

Kenton never thought of himself as a good person. He had long accepted that he wouldn't have a good ending, and he was fine with that. But before that day came, he would make sure Yvette and her family were sent to hell first.

After the quick stop to see Charlene, Kenton and Selena returned to the hospital where Yvette was being held.

Before going inside, Selena glanced around. The hospital was strange—big, but with no patients or families coming or going. Guards were stationed at the entrance, clearly well-trained private bodyguards.

"Great-Uncle Kenton, don't tell me this hospital only has Yvette as a patient?"

"It's a new hospital, so it's not open to the public yet," Kenton lowered his voice to explain. "It belongs to the Maine family—Jessy Maine, to be specific. She wants revenge for Lucy. When I approached her, she immediately gave me the use of the hospital."

Selena knew who Jessy was, so she simply nodded. That old hag Yvette had schemed against too many people while setting up her plains, and now there were just as many people coming after her for revenge.

"What about Marcus and Natalie? Are they really letting Yvette off the hook?"

"As if." Kenton smirked. "They don't even need to lift a finger—because we're doing it for them."

Selena understood right away. Marcus and Natalie didn't need to show their faces or even get their hands dirty. But in this whole affair, they had subtly pushed things along. In the end, even if someone investigated, nothing would trace the trail back to them.

The Holden and Walker families had both gotten their revenge and vented their rage—without getting the slightest bit of blood on their hands. They really were on another level.

Still, even knowing that, the Langley family and Jessy had no reason to stop. They would follow this path to the end.

Soon, the two of them arrived at Yvette's hospital room. Lina was just about to reach as well.

Yvette, still unconscious after being frightened by Selena's colorful snakes, hadn't yet woken up.

"Get ready. We can take her back to Amberton," Kenton said, checking on Yvette. He then called for the bodyguards stationed outside the room. "Come in and get her into the car."

"Yes, Mr. Langley Senior."

The bodyguards rolled in a wheelchair and gently lifted Yvette, blanket and all, placing her onto it.

"Take her straight to Amberton and go directly to my hospital."

"Yes, Mr. Langley Senior."

The bodyguards pushed the unconscious Yvette out of the room. Kenton signaled for Selena and her parents to follow, and they left together.

After Yvette had been taken away, Kenton brought Selena and her parents to get something to eat. Only after finishing their meal did they get in the car and leave at a leisurely pace.

Now that Charlene had fallen into Diana's hands, there was no doubt that Diana would make her taste every bit of suffering that Selena had endured growing up.

Lina's fingernails dug into her palm so hard that they drew blood. The sting snapped her back to her senses. She took a deep breath and sent another message to Kenton's number.

"I'm Charlene's mother. From one mother to another, please don't hurt my daughter. She didn't do anything wrong. She doesn't know anything."

"And what did my daughter do when she was born? What fault did she have? What? Your Jenkins kid is some kind of treasure, but my daughter, Diana Ashcroft's child, is just trash? Something to be stepped on? To be separated from me for years?

"This is just the beginning. Every bit of suffering my daughter went through all these years—I'll make sure your daughter experiences it all, one by one."

Lina staggered as her vision went dark again, nearly losing her balance altogether. She didn't dare waste another second. She jumped into her car and sped toward Amberton.

In Kenton's car, Diana handed his phone back to him, then grabbed Charlene and slapped her across the face several times.

"Bitch! What makes you so innocent? All you Jenkins women deserve to die!" Diana snarled, glaring at Charlene. "Once your mom shows up, I'll send both of you straight to hell!"

Charlene's head spun from the blows, the taste of blood filling her mouth.

"My daughter was taken the moment she was born. We've been separated for years, while you got to grow up comfortably by your mother's side. Everything you ate, wore, and used was all paid for by the Langleys. You bitch! Who gave you the right? Tell me, you Jenkins women. What gave you the right?"

Diana let all the rage in her chest erupt. "And because of you, I ended up offending Natalie. Her biological mother came back and got revenge on me. If you lot hadn't swapped the babies, why would we have ever gotten on the Walker family's bad side? How could I have been separated from my daughter for so many years? Why would my daughter have had to suffer so much?"

By the end, Diana couldn't hold her emotions back anymore. She broke into sobs. "I hate the Jenkins so much. Yvette deserves to die. Your mother deserves to die. And you… deserve to die soon!"
