The Heiress Nobody Saw Coming (Natalie and Marcus) novel Chapter 586

"Wesley, think about Laura, think about Marcus. If something really happens to you, how is Laura supposed to live on her own?" William asked.

He added, "All these years, she managed to make it through because of your support. You can't let her reunite with her son, only for her to lose her husband."

"But we're already divorced." Wesley opened his mouth and spoke with difficulty. "William, Laura knows she was sick all these years because of Cassie. That's why she asked for a divorce. She was afraid."

"If she were truly afraid, she wouldn't have chosen to return to Holden Residence." William sighed. "Wesley, you're too caught up in this to see the situation clearly."

He continued, "Charlotte told me that even though Laura divorced you, deep down, she still loves you. You're the only person in her heart.

"The fact that she returned here proves that she never truly wanted to give up on you or stop loving you. She was afraid. But because of her love for you and Marcus, she still chose to return to this place that caused her years of pain.

"If Laura can be this brave, are you really going to remain stubborn and do something you might regret for the rest of your life?

"Wesley, if something happens to you, Laura will definitely cry. Are you okay with making her cry?"

After saying that, William patted Wesley's shoulder once again. Then, he returned to the couch, picked up the wine glass, and finished it in one gulp.

"Think carefully about what I said. I know what you're trying to do, but compared to the happiness ahead of you, is Cassie really worth it? I'll go check on Charlotte and Laura. You should take some time to cool down."

William placed his glass down, stood up, and then walked out of the villa.

Wesley stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, William's words echoing in his mind. If something happened to him, Laura would cry.

Laura had always been gentle and kind, but also sensitive and emotional. She cried easily, especially when she watched a movie or read a book that was particularly emotional. She would easily be moved to tears.

Back at The Herbalist's Sanctuary, they had opened their hearts to each other, but he never told her what he planned to do.

Wesley was a man, William was a man, and Marcus was a man as well. Even though William hadn't seen Wesley in years and rarely contacted him, he still knew exactly what was on his mind.

As for Marcus, they had a deep conversation once back at The Herbalist's Sanctuary. That was why Marcus knew what Wesley intended to do, but never stopped him.

William's words woke Wesley up. Before him lay two paths.

One led to a future where his family would finally be reunited, living a happy life together.

The other led to hunting down Cassie and doing whatever it took to kill her to avenge Laura and Charles. But would that be the best outcome?

Yvettte's goal was to take revenge against Vivian and the entire Holden family. Cassie, Charles, Laura, and even Wesley himself were nothing but her pawns.

If Wesley were to go down with Cassie, that would be playing right into Yvette's hands.

Yet, Wesley wasn't willing to let Cassie off that easily. Being loved by someone like her was the biggest stain in Wesley's life.

"Father, what should I do?" Wesley muttered. He gazed at the view outside the window, lost in thought for a long time.

William left the villa and quickly found Sheldon.

"Sheldon, I've done what you asked."
