After a brief pause, Casimir continued, “To put it bluntly, even if Mr. Foucault is with you now, he’s just fooling around. He’ll cast you aside once he’s had enough of you, so don’t be naive. You can seek anything from him, but love isn’t one of them.”

“Oh? I didn’t expect you to be so clear–headed, Mr. Sutherland!” Raylee mocked. “In that case, are all the talk about feelings for me nothing but empty words?”

“I’m different!” Casimir quickly pledged his loyalty. “Unlike him, I’m not playing games with you. We have an emotional foundation, as we grew up together. Even without romantic feelings, there’s still a bond of kinship between us. My feelings for you are sincere, and I can promise to marry you, but can Mr. Foucault do the same? To be honest, if you even dared to suggest he marry you, he might kick you out immediately!”

Casimir continued with his manipulative persuasion.

“Ray–Ray, please, come back to me. You can be my bridge, connecting me with Mr. Foucault for some business collaboration. Once my position in the Sutherland family is secure, I’ll be able to marry you. Once you marry me, you’ll become the legitim legitimate lady of the Sutherland family, my rightful wife. By then, you’ll be able to hold your head high!”

“What a load of crap. I’m not interested in playing your games!” Raylee huffed coldly.

She walked away, heading in the opposite direction of Leonardo and Angela.

Having resolved not to be overly greedy, she decided to wholeheartedly enjoy the remaining days she had with him.

Essentially, she turned a blind eye to what she saw just now, as if it never happened.

After all, out of sight, out of mind.

After taking a few steps, Leonardo suddenly called out to her. “Is that you, Ray–Ray?”

Raylee turned around.

Once Leonardo recognized her, he didn’t even bother to hold the umbrella over Angela anymore. Instead, he briskly walked toward her with it.

Drenched in rain, Angela quickly caught up, calling out, “Leo, wait for me…”

Raylee hadn’t expected him to have noticed her.

She furrowed her brows, standing still and caught in a dilemma of whether to leave or stay.

When Leonardo approached her, Casimir suddenly stepped in front of her, greeting him, “Hello, Mr. Foucault.”

Leonardo glanced at Casimir, then at Raylee, his tone turning bitter.

“Did you just finish eating at the shop? Choosing to go on a date in this kind of weather, your timing is uncanny!”

Immediately, Casimir waved his hands to clarify, saying,

“No, no, no, Mr. Foucault, you’ve got it all wrong. I just happened to bump into Ray–Ray at the entrance. We didn’t have a meal together. Really, we didn’t. I’m not lying to you. If you don’t believe me, you can always check the surveillance footage.”

With a peculiar look in her eyes, Raylee gazed at Casimir.

“Mr. Sutherland, you just told me moments ago that you wanted to marry me, and even asked for my assistance in collaborating with Mr. Foucault. Why are you distancing yourself from me all of a sudden? You even said that Mr. Foucault, who already has the outstanding Ms. Angela, wouldn’t be interested in me, telling me not to entertain any foolish hopes. However, in less than a few minutes, you’ve already changed your tune? I’m simply amazed by such a seamless performance from you. Mr. Sutherland, I think you should quit the business world and go into acting instead. You might even win an award given your talent.”
