Maeve unconsciously choked up at the end of her sentence. When she realized this, she immediately shut her mouth to hide her emotions

“If I had a fiancé and kept pestering you to do intimate things with you, would you feel comfortable?” Maeve asked. 

Byron frowned. Just thinking about the possibility of another man being engaged to Maeve made him feel unhappy. Suddenly, his brows relaxed and a smile appeared on his thin lips. “Maeve, do you think I like Lynn?” 

“Don’t you?” 

“She was only eleven when she passed. Do you take me for a beast?” 

Maeve was stunned for a few seconds. She thought, ‘Eleven years old? The sketch that he has placed in the study is obviously for a girl who is around 10 years old because she still wears a high school uniform. The age doesn’t match his words.
