The Hidden Gold Mine Heiress Divorcee novel Chapter 298

Chapter 298 Five Years Ago 14

“I want to be with you,” Ziana insisted.

Standing in the rain, she was pale and pathetic, but her eyes showed she was persistent.

Boris winked at the mercenary. The mercenary turned to climb up a tree nearby.

Boris looked at Ziana. Before she said anything, he pulled her into his arms and kissed her with passion.

The rain was cold, but Boris’ lips were hot.

The kiss was so domineering that it almost took all her breath away.

When Ziana was out of breath, Boris let go of her. He gasped and said, “Be obedient.”

Ziana shook her head and whimpered, “Don’t leave me alone.”

“I won’t. Climb up first.” Boris paid attention to the gunshots behind him. “There is no time. Be obedient.”

Ziana fixed her red eyes on Boris. “You said you would agree to my requests because I saved you. Do you remember?”

Boris didn’t expect Ziana to mention that and said coaxingly, “Yes, I agree.”

“I want you to be alive.”

“I will.”

“Okay.” Ziana gritted her teeth. “Boris, if you dare to lie to me, I will never forgive you. I will like another man to make you angry.”

After Ziana said that, she wiped her face and didn’t insist anymore. Then, she turned around and climbed up the tree.

Ziana was concealed by branches and leaves and didn’t stop. Seeing that, Boris endured the pain and continued to run forward.

He cannot be found there.

He wanted to run further.

However, Boris’ wound and great pain made him far less energetic than usual. He had tried to hold on in front of

Ziana. How could he run a long distance?

Those people flanked him and caught him soon.

Kasen stepped forward and hit Boris’ head with the Gatlin on his shoulder.

Boris had a splitting headache and panted silently with his mouth open. At the same time, he heard vicious curses.

“Can you keep running? Don’t struggle. It’s useless. Where can you run now?

“Did you hide your woman? Where is she?

“You can meet each other in hell. Tell me where she is.”

Boris closed his eyes and said nothing, which irritated Kasen. He screamed, “Tie him up!”

Several men dragged Boris and tied his hands and feet to the tree.

Kaşen took out his dagger and laughed horribly. “You have to pay the price of playing tricks on me. One of your eyes is blind. I don’t mind making the other one blind. Since you don’t tell me, I want to see how tough you are.”

Kasen threw the dagger to the burly man beside him and ordered viciously, “Cut out his other eye. I don’t believe that woman won’t come out.”

Boris laughed softly.

Kasen was furious and said fiercely, “Do it!”

The burly man must have done that many times.

He stabbed the sharp dagger into Boris’ eye. There was a mu ffled sound. In the heavy rain, it could hardly be heard.

Boris endured the pain stubbornly and didn’t make a sound.

He felt the warmth in his body disappear gradually. And he became unconscious.

Boom!

Suddenly, a gunshot rang out, followed by a dense hail of bullets, and there was no time for anyone to react.

Kasen yelled, “Da mn it. Fight with them.”

Then, strife started.

Ziana hid in the tree and was terrified when she heard the sounds.

When everything returned to calm, Ziana found Boris. A chill shiver rippled over her skin.

“Boris.”

Ziana rushed over to hug him. She was so sad that she couldn’t make a sound, but her tears trickled down her cheeks.

“Don’t be afraid.” Boris heard Ziana saying, “It’s going to be Okay. I won’t let anything happen to you.”

When Boris came round, he didn’t know how long it had been. He heard someone talking beside him.

“Do you want to eat something?” a man asked gently.

Boris frowned and wondered whether the man was asking him.

Boris tried to figure out who the man was but failed.

He felt someone holding his hand, and the feeling was familiar. It was Ziana.

Boris moved his fingers, and the woman said with joy, “Boris? Are you awake?”

It was Ziana’s voice. It was the same as before, yet different.

Boris tried to open his mouth, but his throat was dry, and his voice was (hoa rse). “Honey.”

Ziana said in a choked voice, “I’m here. It’s Okay. We’re safe. Do you want to drink some water?”

“I am thirsty,” Boris said.

Ziana said, “I’ll get you some water.”

“I will do it,” the man said. “Stay here with him. He needs your company now.”

Ziana didn’t refuse because she didn’t want to leave Boris.

The man came back with water. Ziana fed Boris with a spoon and wiped his mouth when he needed no more.

“Do you still feel painful?” Ziana asked.

Boris shook his head. “No.”

“We’re still on a yacht. When we get back to Scope Island, I’ll detoxify you. Ziana grabbed Boris’ hand and put it on

her face.

Boris thought Ziana’s eyes must be red because he had heard the choking in her voice.

It was a pity that he couldn’t see her.

“Don’t cry.” Boris groped to hug Ziana, patting her back lightly. “I did what I had promised you.”

Boris promised Ziana to be alive.

Ziana tried to hold back her tears, but they poured down her face.

She buried her face in front of Boris and bit her lip. “Well, I know you won’t lie to me.”

“I have never lied to you.”

Then, Ziana told Boris what happened after he fainted.

Ziana was escorted to the pier and saw the yacht. Therefore, they were rescued.

“This gentleman is Edison Andrew. He took the chance of his graduation trip to come here to find his relatives and just happened to meet us. Now we are on the way back to Scope Island.” Ziana compressed her lips and told Boris, “I

have gotten in touch with Yudel and Dad, and they have sent people here.

“We’re safe.” Ziana paused and gritted her teeth before she continued, “Those people will pay the price.”

Boris was awake for a short period and relapsed into a coma again.

Fortunately, they returned to Scope Island the next day.

As Boris and Ziana’s savior, Edison was invited by the Scott family to the castle. They wanted to express their

gratitude.

The Scott family mobilized all the medical resources to treat Boris.

Everyone found that Ziana was different.

The whole family was distressed about what had happened to Ziana, but she had been calm since she went home.

Ziana was no longer lively and cheerful. She became quiet.

When the family members talked to her, she was always distracted. She answered briefly after others talked to her for a long time.

Most of the time, she was in a daze. Only when Boris was mentioned, she was energetic and caring.

She had no appetite. She had always been a light eater. After coming home, she only had a few grains of rice every day.

If she ate something more, she would vomit after a while.

At first, the Scotts thought Ziana was pregnant, so they asked a doctor to check her. However, it turned out that was

not true.

“It might be depression.” The doctor couldn’t be sure. “Pay close attention to her physical condition and persuade her to cooperate with treatment as soon as possible. If depression developed, the patient might choose to commit
