Chapter 409 One Life for Another
“Boris! Save me! Am I not the one you love the most, Boris? Please, save me!” Vivi pleaded. Without even looking at her, Boris pointed toward Ziana and said, “Release her.”
“Mr. Lewis, you are truly decisive.” A male voice came from the darkness. “What did I say? The person Mr. Lewis truly loves isn’t you.”
In the next sentence, he called out Ziana’s name. “Miss Scott, do you now know who holds the greatest importance in his heart?”
Ziana’s lips trembled.
He always said one thing and did another, and she was always trying to guess his thoughts. But just now, his choice was unwavering, certain, and resolute.
Her nose was sour, and she called him in a low voice. “Boris…”
“Don’t be afraid. I’m here.” He spoke gently. “Everything will be alright soon.
Sean laughed loudly. “Vivi, look! Look at yourself. Don’t you resemble a joke?”
Vivi couldn’t bear it any longer. She stood up abruptly from her chair and forcefully threw the ropes to the ground!
She was infuriated, trembling with rage. “Boris, why would you treat me like this? Today, I realized how ruthless you truly are! How could you use me as a pawn? How could you be so malicious!”
Boris looked at her expressionless. “Wasn’t it your own choice to walk down this path? You sought wealth and insisted on being by my side. You deceitfully lied to me beforehand, and lies come with
consequences.”
“You!” Vivi was rendered speechless for a moment, then screamed, “I hate you! I’ll confront you! You’ve ruined my entire life! I could have had a wonderful life, but it’s all because of you!”
Vivi rushed towards Boris, only to be kicked away by him with disgust. He said, “One must know when to stop, to appreciate the good and withdraw. These past years, I’ve given you everything you wanted, yet instead of restraining yourself, you became more audacious, pushing boundaries. It’s not me who ruined you. It’s your own doing!”
Boris despised Vivi.
If not for Vivi’s lies, he could have had a completely different life.
Vivi fell to the ground after being kicked while Sean applauded.
Calmly emerging from the darkness, he smiled and greeted Boris. “Mr. Lewis, what a coincidence to find you here. Are you surprised?”
At that moment, Darlene, who was behind him, suddenly struggled intensely.
Looking from the front, Sean could only see that he brought someone along. He furrowed his brow and asked cautiously, “Who else did you bring?”
Boris tugged forcefully, bringing Darlene forward, causing her to stumble and fall to the ground.
She looked up at Sean, whimpering and shedding silent tears.
Her mouth was sealed shut, and her eyes expressed despair.
Sean immediately recognized Darlene, his face turning pale. “Darlene! How… How could you bring her here?”
“One life for another.” Boris looked up. “Seth Lewis, you should understand my meaning.”
“You!” Sean winced at the mention of that name.
He pointed his finger at Boris and exclaimed, “You! You! You are not allowed to say that name!”
