With that, Claire aimed a slap at Jackson’s forehead. But the quick–witted Jackson dodged it.

The two made their way to the parking lot, playfully squabbling the whole time.

Once in the car, Jackson put aside his playful manner and seriously asked Claire:

“Claire, are you feeling any better?”

Claire was momentarily stunned, then realized that Jackson’s entire act today was meant to

cheer her up.

Though his method was irritating, it was undeniably effective.
