Chapter 1
When my husband’s first love found out I was pregnant, she deliberately set a fire to our house, trying to burn me to death.
Instead of crying out for help, I calmly helped Marie, my mother–in–law, struggling to
survive the flames.
In my previous life, I had screamed and pleaded desperately within the flames. My
husband arrived with rescuers and saved both me and Marie first.
But his first love–realizing she hadn’t been his priority for rescue–charged back into the fire and ultimately died from severe burns.
After her death, my husband showered me with endless affection to comfort my terrified
heart.
That woman’s name never passed his lips again.
Yet, after our child was born, my husband took her first love’s memorial tablet and smashed our baby to death!
“It’s all your fault! You took the love of my life from me! GO TO HELL AND BURN FOR YOUR
SINS!!”
Then excruciating pain exploded at the back of my skull – everything went dark.
When I opened my eyes again, I was back in the middle of the raging fire…
“Eleanor, hold on! I’ll get you out of here!”
My mother–in–law, Marie’s familiar voice jolted me awake, and just as I opened my eyes, the scorched, misshapen wooden door crashed down right past my face.
I immediately dragged her back into the bedroom.
“Mom, Whatever you do, don’t open the window! It’ll only make the fire spread faster.”

I scanned the room, grabbed bottled water from my nightstand, and used it to soak a
blanket before handing it to Marie, motioning for her to cover her mouth and nose.
Sirens blared from downstairs, and Marie’s face lit up with hope.
“Don’t worried, Eleanor, Alexander’s here with help. We’re going to be fine.”
Seeing her excited expression, I lowered my eyes and remained silent.
I had no idea how to tell this kind old lady that her son would murder her precious baby granddaughter for the sake of his first love.
The fire continued to rage, the room heat intensifying.
Thick smoke began seeping through the door cracks, forcing us away from the only exit.
Suddenly, Alexander’s voice sounded from outside the door.
“Abigail! Abigail, are you in there?”
“Don’t be afraid, I’ve got you now!”
With a loud crash, the door was forcibly broken down.
Through the blinding red flames, I couldn’t see anything, but I heard Abigail’s trembling
cries:
“Alexander, is that you? I’m on the balcony.”
“Help me, Alexander! I’m so scared…”
“Everyone, move! No time to search, follow me to the balcony for extraction!”
Hearing their conversation, Marie suddenly clutched her chest, struggling to breathe.
“That bastard! How could he…”
Before she could finish her sentence, Marie’s eyes rolled back, and she passed out from
sheer anger.

Through the roaring flames, I glimpsed Alexander’s retreating figure–Abigail limp in his arms as they vanished into the chaos.
The raging fire consumed everything. The tears streaming from my eyes evaporated before
they could even fall.
At that moment, I swallowed the scream of desperation that nearly tore from my throat.
Alexander, in this lifetime, I owe you nothing.
I covered my mouth and nose as I knelt next to Marie, struggling to lift her onto my back.
Being Pregnant, just standing up nearly broke me.
The moment I stood up, I heard some voices in the distance–shocking me so badly I almost fell again..
“Abigail, is there anyone else in the house?”
“No one, Alexander. Eleanor said she was pregnant and too delicate to deal with anything. I just argued with her a little, and she locked me in the house and set it on fire before
running away…”
“That vicious bitch! When I find her, I’ll make her pay with her life!”
The next moment, another voice chimed in:
“Alexander, I just heard someone talking in the bedroom.”
“I really think someone else is still inside. What if Eleanor is trapped in there…”
“Abigail already said Eleanor did this. If she set the fire, would she really stay behind and
wait to die?”
“Abigail’s health is weak. The priority now is getting her to the hospital!”
The pain in my belly was unbearable. I nearly shattered my teeth from clenching them so hard, trying to gather the strength to charge out of the fire.
At some point, Marie had regained consciousness from the smoke and grabbed me,

stopping me from moving.
With all her strength, she started shouting.
“Alexander, you little bastard! Your wife and child are trapped inside, and you’re taking the
little bitch to the hospital?!”
I froze, straining to decipher the noises outside.
But the footsteps had faded – no trace of Alexander remained.
A burning, deformed wardrobe crashed down, blocking our only escape route.
