immediately understood!
person claiming to be Zachary in front of her was an imposter.
The real Zachary was somewhere else!
The fact that this person in front of her could mimic Zachary so convincingly indicated his exceptional transfiguration skill. He could replicate Zachary’s tone, demeanor, physique, and even his voice with such precision.
This extraordinary transfiguration skill had deceived her!
“Captain, the thirteenth bomb is in the southeast direction. You go ahead and defuse that bomb while I search for a bag to store the explosives.”
Upon discovering the truth, Katelyn didn’t immediately expose the fake Zachary’s act. Instead, she maintained a poker face, pretending to look for a bag and creating distance between herself and the imposter.
After finally locating the disguised Nightfiend Demigod, she was determined not to let him slip away so easily.
Therefore, while searching for the bag, she discreetly tapped her earpiece a few times.
It was Morse code!
She chose this discreet method to silently inform Zachary and Blake that she had found the Nightfiend Demigod.
Therefore, she refrained from exposing Nightfiend Demigod and aimed to keep him under control until Blake and Zachary arrived. Then, they could confront him together.
However, before she could finish tapping out the Morse code, an ominous shadow suddenly enveloped her.
That fake Zachary had quietly approached from behind. His gaze was sharp as a knife, coldly fixed on her. “Katelyn, what are you doing?”
His voice still carried its magnetic charm, but there was an inexplicable chill to it.
Katelyn suddenly felt like she was being stared down by a ferocious beast. She was overcome with an icy dread, her body tensing up, and every hair on her body standing on end at that moment.
“Save…”
Katelyn’s body moved like lightning as she swiftly charged forward.
Simultaneously, she threw the bomb in her hand toward the fake Zachary.
The fake Zachary maintained a cold, stern gaze and promptly caught the thrown bomb in mid–air.
Boom!
The explosion of the bomb was remarkably muted, and the resulting flames were tightly contained within the palm of Zachary’s hand.
Even the fragments of the bomb hung suspended in mid–air, floating in the palm of the fake Zachary.
He had suppressed the explosion of the bomb!
Moreover, he remained completely unharmed, and not even his clothes showed the slightest sign of damage. “How… how is this possible?”
