Chapter 42 – Rage
MILES
FUCK. I had been so sure that Laura was dead after she ran away when I rejected her. But here she was next to our king, marked and by the smell mated. Titus was in rage within me, he had never forgiven me for rejecting our fated mate, and refused to communicate with Leah’s wolf lulu. He hadn’t been a big help either when I was trying to mark Leah. I did succeed but only after 5 tries.
Titus had just now tried to communicate with Laura‘s wolf Kali but was rejected, and even more, she had helped to block him by the king‘s wolf. First I didn‘t see why that would be, but then the king pulled down Laura’s shirt and there was the mark we had all felt being giving. Not only with the king’s name but also his wolf’s. That can only mean that Kali had accepted another wolf as her mate.
An Omega was following us through the huge packhouse and I heard Leah ask.
“Do the king sleep on this floor?” I‘ now noticed we are on the top floor.
“Oh, no. The king and his family along with the acting beta family live in his private residence.” The Omega tells us.
“Really? Where is that?” Leah asked.
“I am not allowed to tell.” She answers and Leah scoffs. I know she will be hating to see her half–sister getting more than she had.
“Your suite has two bedrooms, so the Luna‘s parents will be close by, your room also has gotten a bed for your son, and has its own bathroom.” The omega tells us. Showing us all in.
“The dinner is at 7 pm in the ballroom and lasts until 8.30 pm. You are free to explore the grounds around the packhouse and the training grounds. Do you need to shift and go for a run, you are asked to let the Beta know so he can alert the working patrol. Also, any request to speak with the king is to go to the beta
as well.”
“Thank you, the suite looks great.” I hear Bryan say to the Omega. She smiles and bows before leaving the room. The second she is gone Bryan‘s eyes burn with anger.
“Is it true?”
“Is what true daddy,” Leah asks trying to sound like a daddy‘s girl.
“Did you two cheat on your sister? Forced her to look. Before she was rejected?”
“Why to talk about this,” Samantha asks sounding bored.
