The Kiss that Sparked it All (Ellinor and Theo) novel Chapter 1252

Belinda looked around but didn't spot Chase. All she saw was her phone charging on the bedside table. She picked it up, and the first unread message was from Chase.
“The only thing I did last night was bring you to my room and crash on the couch. Don't think too much into it.”
Her heart raced, and her cheeks flushed. What the hell was he playing at? She was all kinds of confused!
Then there were the 99+ unread messages from her boyfriend, Jacob.
Belinda cringed. She'd been so out of it yesterday that she'd forgotten to reply to Jacob.
She opened their chat to find a bunch of messages from him, asking where she was, what she was doing, and if she'd gone to bed.
The last one was from this morning. “Belinda, why aren't you answering me? Reply when you see this!”
Feeling guilty, she quickly replied. “Sorry, I got caught up with something yesterday and forgot to reply to your messages.”
Jacob replied instantly. “No worries! I was just worried about you. Are you okay? Where are you?”
She replied honestly. “I'm still at my aunt's place. I'm okay; don't worry.”
Jacob asked, “Can I pick you up for lunch? It'll be just us two.”
For some reason, Belinda hesitated before replying. “Um... sure. Don't bother picking me up; I'll come to you.”
“Looking forward to it!”
After ending the chat with Jacob, Belinda got out of bed and cleaned herself up in the bathroom.
When she came out of Chase’s room, she saw Ellinor sitting alone at the kitchen counter, eating breakfast and working on her laptop.
Belinda approached her. “Aunt... I mean, Ellinor, what are you up to?”
Ellinor held a finger to her lips, then pointed at her laptop. Belinda got the hint and shut up.
She took a peek at the laptop, only to see her own messy hair on the screen. She jumped back, like she'd seen a ghost.
Turned out that Ellinor was on a video call. She was probably having a meeting.
Not knowing what was going on and not daring to disturb her, Belinda quietly picked up her jacket and bag and left.
She'd go home to change and freshen up, then meet Jacob. Afterward, she'd bring lunch back for Ellinor.
Ellinor noticed Belinda leave but didn't look up. She finished her video meeting and closed her laptop.
Ida called right then. She took a sip of milk and picked up.
Ida reported. "Boss, the Blanchet Corporation has bought the Southside Haven property. They plan to turn it into a shopping center and want us to handle the project. What do you think?"
Ellinor sipped her warm milk and squinted. "It's a good project. If the conditions are right, we can consider taking it. But we need to watch out for any potential traps in their contract."
"Got it. I'll bring our legal team to negotiate with them."
After hanging up, Ellinor rubbed her tired eyes. Even though she'd just woken up, she felt utterly drained.
The Blanchet Corporation seemed eager to work with Crescent Society, and she couldn't help but suspect it was Theo's doing.
Something was off, and it made her uneasy.
But if they refused, the Blanchet Corporation would just propose another project. They might as well face it head-on.
The doorbell rang.

Marissa nodded. "As long as she’s alright. Ellinor is pregnant now, and it makes me so nervous. I'm afraid any stress might cause her to give birth prematurely. You know, having a baby is like walking through a valley of death... Oh, and don't tell your grandpa about what happened today. I don't want him to get any weird ideas about Ellinor."
"I got it." Veronica responded.
...
In a hotel room.
Sophia danced alone in her room to the elegant music.
Her attendant, Kevin, walked in with a bottle of wine. After seeing her passionately dance, he curiously asked. "What's got you so excited?"
Sophia slowed down her movements and chuckled. "Do I look that happy?"
Kevin nodded as he uncorked the wine. "Definitely! You seem to be in a great mood today. What happened?"
Sophia stopped dancing. "Today, that woman, Ellinor, finally showed up!"
Kevin paused in surprise as he poured the wine. "Wait, isn't Ellinor your rival? Why are you so thrilled to see her?"
Sophia smirked. "If she hadn't shown up, she would have always been the one that Theo couldn't let go of, and I could never replace her. Now that she's here, her flaws will be exposed, and Theo will grow tired of her. I can feel it. Theo is starting to resent her already!"
Kevin looked confused but passed the glass of wine to Sophia. "So you're saying that you're close to winning Mr. Blanchet's heart?"
Sophia took a sip of the wine. "No, it's not that easy! To win Theo's heart, there's still a long road ahead. Right now, he only sees me as a friend. It's only when he's completely fed up with Ellinor that he can make room for me in his heart. But it's okay; I'm not in a hurry; I can wait."
Kevin felt a pang of sympathy for his master. "You've been pining for Mr. Blanchet for so many years. If you had confessed your feelings earlier, Ellinor wouldn't have stood a chance! When he needed a woman to fake marry to appease his family, Mr. Blanchet came to you first."
Sophia dismissed him with a wave of her hand. "What do you know? Some things can't be rushed. Remember Patricia? She confessed her feelings directly and even tried to use the fact that she saved Theo's life to pressure him. But what happened? Theo still didn't care about her!
So, I never saw Patricia as a rival because I knew she didn't stand a chance!
If I had confessed directly, Theo would have kept his distance from me. It would have been counterproductive. A mature man like Theo, who is self-respecting and has strong self-control, will not allow himself to be in ambiguous relationships with women.
The best way is to subtly stay by his side like I do, let him get used to my presence, and slowly make him unable to live without me."
Kevin was a bit taken aback and looked at Sophia with admiration.
Sophia swirled the wine in her glass. "As for Ellinor, she's indeed pretty and has a strong character.
But her low background is a weakness she can't escape. With a low background comes limited exposure. Being with Theo will only lower his standards. Putnam Blanchet won't like her.
I believe Theo, being such a wise man, will choose me in the end."
Sophia drank her wine with confidence, grinning as she looked out at the night.
...
The next day.
First thing in the morning, Ida and Chase left for work.
Belinda couldn't knock on Ellinor's door last night, so she had to sleep on the couch. But when she woke up, she found herself in Chase's bed.
She jumped up in surprise but saw that she was alone in the bed, with all her clothes on, and then sighed in relief.
