"Just as | picked up Barber, | happened to see Byran running out to take a taxi. Since | was with Barber, | couldn't stop him."

As he thought about the places his disappointing younger brother might go, Balfour couldn't help but rub his temples, feeling a headache coming on.

"Send a couple of guys to get him home. Don't let him bother other people."

Quinton nodded. "Sure thing, Mr. Howard, I'll send someone to bring Byran back right away."

Byran took a taxi to where Ida lived.

He rang the doorbell upstairs for a while, but no one opened the door. He called Ida, but she didn't pick up. After thinking about the intimate scene he had seen between Ida and a man at the Crescent Society this morning, his mood became extremely unstable.

Helpless, he called Chase Larios.

"What's up, Byran?"

Chase picked up the phone, but it was very noisy on his end. It sounded like he was in a nightclub.

Byran asked irritably, "Where are you? Why is it so noisy? Why hasn't Ida come home yet?"

Chase chuckled. "I knew it! You wouldn't call me for no reason. So, you're looking for Ida, huh?"
