He grabbed a bottle of booze from the table, poured half a glass for Ida, and then filled up his own glass to the brim. "Ida, I was just pulling your leg. Did you really get mad? Either way, my bad. Here's a toast to you. Even if you're not willing to give me a chance now, I'll keep trying to show you that I'm for real."

With that, he put down the bottle, downed his own glass in one gulp, and then looked at Ida provocatively. "I've done my part. It's your move now, Ida."

Byran frowned, trying to soften his tone. "Ida, you should stop drinking and go home. You have to get up early for work tomorrow."

Ida waved him off. "Tomorrow's the weekend. I don't have to get up early. Go home; don't let your brother worry about you."
