Diana cast an indifferent glance, barely acknowledging Colton’s words with more than a 

flicker of disinterest. 

Once Ivy, having caught her breath, felt an unexpected kinship with the

“Aurora, I’ve always been this way. As my friend for so many years, you should know better than anyone. I haven’t changed,” Valor said, trying to explain herself despite the effort it took. 

But her words were met with a harsh shove from Aurora, sending her tumbling into the

They had grown up by the seaside, understanding all too well the dangers of high tide.
