The Kiss that Sparked it All (Ellinor and Theo) novel Chapter 285

This little girl took that guy down today with just a few words!

Theo leaned lazily against the door frame, hands in his pockets, looking at his wife's smug expression with a gentle, proud look.

That's his girl, all right!

Theo walked over, "You should be resting in your room; why are you out and about?"

Ellinor saw Theo coming out from room 302 and walking towards her; she frowned, annoyed: "I've been sleeping too much, bored as hell, came out to see if you're still breathing!"

Theo just looked at her, not happy, but seemed accustomed to her annoying ways; he didn't get mad.

Theo's big hand ruffled her hair like teasing her, "Hmm, sorry to disappoint you by still being alive, huh?"

Ellinor sidestepped, skillfully avoiding his touch.

A hand that had just held another woman, she found it disgusting!

Feeling bored, Ellinor waved her bandaged hand nonchalantly, "You guys carry on; I’m outta here!"

With that, she turned and walked away.

Theo naturally followed along...

Patricia suddenly ran out, tugging at Theo's sleeve, tears in her eyes, "Theo, don't go, stay with me; I’m scared..."

Theo stopped, looked down at Patricia, didn't respond directly but looked up at her brother Balfour, "My wife runs a tight ship; I am not easy to take care of your sister anymore."

Balfour gave a subtle nod, "Understood."

Then, Theo calmly removed Patricia's hand, "Your brother's here now; he’ll stay with you; get some rest."

With that, Theo picked up his pace, catching up with the little girl who had walked far ahead.

Watching Theo leave, Patricia still wanted to chase after him.

Balfour held his sister's arm, gently advising, "Patri, behave; he’s married."

Patricia shook her head pitifully, "Bro, I know; Theo only got married to appease his family; he didn't mean it..."

After hanging up, Balfour clutched his forehead.

Fifteen years ago, his mother took his five-year-old sister and left due to complex family disputes; they disappeared without a trace.

Everyone thought they were dead, but he wouldn't give up searching as long as he didn't see their bodies.

Balfour came back to reality and instructed his secretary, "Quinton, do a background check on that Ellinor; it seems like she's quite a formidable girl, don't let her bully Patri."

"Yes."

Quinton agreed and muttered to himself: Looks like that woman doesn't care about the half-a-million-dollar check you gave her; she’s got bigger ambitions; she wants Mrs. Blanchet's position and everything the Blanchet family owns! There's no chance for Miss and Mr. Blanchet now...

Balfour frowned, squinting.

Even without that Ellinor, it would be hard for Patri and Theo to be together.

Their families, the Howards and the Blanchets are arch-enemies; the younger generation's hostility has faded, and they won't start a fight when they meet, but as long as the older generation is still alive, a marriage between the Howards and the Blanchets is impossible!

And Patri just happens to fall for the one person she shouldn't have...
