Chapter 8
I deliberately took out my work badge and played with it in my hands. It read:
*Public Relations Department General Manager: Amina.* My company is an organization that works with many wel- known internet celebrities. I personally have connections with over a dozen of them.
Seeing the gleam in Kaylee's eyes, I understood. She was tempted.
People like her are the same as Easton-pure egoists.
At the police station, I truthfully told the officers everything I had witnessed, then left.
The next day, I received a notification from the police. Easton had been detained, and Kaylee had filed a lawsuit accusing him of assault. The police asked if I wanted to hire a lawyer. I refused.
I then listed all my properties on second-hand websites for sale and simultaneously found a lawyer to file for divorce from Easton.
When Easton's mother came to see me, I had just finished a meeting. She stormed into my office.
"You little bitch, are you the one who told the police not to hire a lawyer and let the court decide?"
Her voice was loud, and the colleagues outside the office gave me curious looks. I quickly shut the door.
"Let's talk calmly," I said.
She pushed me aside and jabbed her finger into my shoulder.
