Chapter 41 Collecting Hair for Paternity Test
Grace began to have doubts after hearing Elias’ words.
Did someone really see Amanda go to the gynecologist to have an abortion? Does this mean that the little boy I saw last night is not Elias’? But his facial features and expression are very similar to Elias
Still, Grace didn’t dare jump to conclusions. She had to do a paternity test to feel at ease.
“Um… Elias, I want to go to your bedroom for a moment. I think I lost an earring the last time I went into your bedroom. It was an earring I borrowed from the brand, so I need to return it. Can I go in and look for it?”
Grace made up a random excuse to enter the man’s bedroom and collect some hair for the test.
Elias, who was annoyed and distracted at the moment, did not care much about what she had in mind. He simply muttered, “Do as you please.”
“Thanks!”
She then turned and walked toward the elevator, as the man’s room was on the fourth floor.
After entering the elevator, Grace secretly glanced at the man in the living room. I should have enough time to find what I need, as he seems to be lost in thought and may not return to his room anytime
The elevator door opened with a ding.
Grace quickly walked toward the bedroom and closed the door behind her after entering.
She then put on some gloves and took out an evidence bag that she had prepared in advance before she began to collect hair samples in the room.
It was not easy to collect Elias’ hair in the Winters Estate. After all, there were servants who cleaned the place every day. Elias’ obsession with cleanliness further made sure that it was spotless everywhere.
Grace searched around the bed but did not manage to find even a strand of hair. She proceeded to go to the bathroom and look around until she finally found a hair in an inconspicuous corner.
Carefully, she picked it up and put it in the evidence bag.
The next, and most difficult thing she needed to do, was to get a hair sample from the boy.
The truth would be out in the open as soon as they did a paternity test.
Aiden had fallen asleep on their way back to Lotus Waterfront.
When they got home, Simon carried the child into the house
Amanda helped Simon open the bedroom door. After the two gently placed the child on the bed, they quietly left the room.
Amanda couldn’t help feeling awkward after that.
Naturally, Simon could understand her embarrassment. He slowly stated, “Even if you don’t want to marry me, we are still colleagues and friends. There is no need to be so distant, is there?”
Amanda gave a small smile and nod in return.
“I heard from Helean that you are looking for a new place. Did something happen? Is this not a nice place to live?”
“It’s nothing. It’s just some personal reasons. I want to move to a new place since I can’t live here anymore.”
She didn’t want to bring up what had happened with Dick, nor did she want anyone to know that she had a se mbag for a father.
Simon probably guessed her concern. “How about this? I have a villa in Galaxy Bay that is currently vacant. You can stay there temporarily until you find a suitable place to move to. What do you think?”
Amanda didn’t know what to say for a moment.
It was a good idea, but she couldn’t bring herself to trouble him again.
Noticing her silence, Simon added. “If you feel awkward about it, you can pay the rent. My villa is just sitting there. It would be nice for me to earn some money.”
“Alright. I won’t hold back, then. However, you must accept the rent when I pay you.”
“Okay. That’s settled, then. I’ll leave first. You should get some rest.”
He promptly turned around and left.
Amanda’s smile gradually disappeared after the sound of the door closing rang out.
She leaned against the door and slowly slid down onto the carpet before she hugged her knees. It had been an exhausting day. She had gone through so much, and even her mind was a mess.
Everything seemed to be back to normal the next morning.
After waking up, Amanda freshened up before making breakfast for her son.
Since the nanny took the day off today, Amanda was responsible for taking her son to
kindergarten.
“Aiden Bailey, can you please hurry it up? We’re going to be late.”
She had already put on her shoes, but the boy was still leisurely chewing on his bread at the table. He didn’t look like he was in a hurry at all.
“Got it. Mommy.”
He hopped off his chair and waddled to the entrance. After he put on his shoes and backpack, he was ready to go to kindergarten.
“Mommy, I’m done!”
Amanda then held his small hand and walked out of their house.
She soon drove her son out of the residential area. Unbeknownst to her, a car waiting for her outside the area was quickly catching up to her.
They were at the kindergarten in no time.
Amanda carried her son out of the car and brought him into the kindergarten before she felt reassured enough to leave.
It was a day just like any other day.
The only thing that was different was that Elias had said he never wanted to see her again. yesterday.
Perhaps, he wouldn’t bother himself with her again, now that she had hurt his lofty self-esteem.
This might be the best outcome. Isn’t this the life I want? But why do I feel empty inside?
After Amanda drove off, the door of the car parked next to her opened, and Grace stepped out of
the vehicle.
