Casey was left in a daze, staring at the man before her for a very long time. She couldn’t help but recall the image of Amanda leaving the study at Galaxy Bay earlier that day-disheveled clothing, tousled hair, flushed checks. There was no way something innocent had occurred. in that study. 

She couldn’t understand how someone as good as Elias could be betrayed by Amanda. 

After a long silence, Elias spoke up, “But this is just my personal choice. Everyone’s decisions. are different. If you find yourself in such a situation, follow your heart. Whether it’s revenge or blessing, love itself doesn’t follow any rules.” 

Tears welled up in Casey’s eyes. “Yes, love truly doesn’t follow any rules.” 

She couldn’t tell Elias about what she had witnessed earlier that day. After the incident where Elias had collapsed and was rushed to the hospital, she learned about his recent major car accident and residual blood clots in his brain. He couldn’t handle any more shocks or emotional distress. 

If she were to tell him about what she had seen at Galaxy Bay, Elias might just faint again. 

She had to tread carefully and take it step by step. 

“It sounds like you’ve encountered some emotional setbacks, Miss Carter.” 

“Yes, and no,” she replied. Was this really just an emotional setback? She had inexplicably given birth to Symeon’s child, and she still had no idea how that had happened. 

Elias placed his wine glass down and said, “Let me remind you, if it’s about Lawrence, it’s best to give up on that hope now. He’s not a good man, and you two won’t have any future. His presence here is only temporary; he’ll return to Esmos sooner or later. It’s getting late; I should go back. My wife wouldn’t be pleased if I’m late.” 

After he finished speaking, he turned and left. 

Casey stood there, watching his retreating figure, deep in thought for a long time. 

She knew Symeon was unreliable and wouldn’t actively pursue anything. However, she had already entered Symeon’s world, and now she even had Dulcie. There was no escaping it. 

She would likely need Symeon’s cooperation to regain custody of Dulcie and have Symeon relinquish parental rights. Judging by how much Symeon cared for Amanda, he would probably listen to whatever she said. 

When that time came, she could take Dulcie and leave, far away. Nothing was keeping her

Amanda instinctively turned her head to see Elias. She reclined in the tub, sounding lazy, “Why are you back so soon? Weren’t you supposed to attend the party?” 

“I was worried you’d be bored here alone, and the party is boring.” 

Elias walked over and sat on the edge of the bathtub, gazing at Amanda, whose skin was covered in bubbles, giving her an almost ethereal appearance. 

“What are you staring at? Just so you know, it’s off-limits. I’m not feeling well these days, so that’s not happening.” 

Elias’ gaze was far from innocent; it was clear he had some mischievous thoughts. 

He chuckled softly. “How do you know what I’m thinking? Unless you’re thinking the same. thing.” 

“Be serious. Leave now; I’ll be done in a moment.” 

“What if we soak together? I’m a bit tired lately, too. There’s been too much going on…” 

When she heard that he was tired, Amanda’s heart sank. It must be because Symeon had been constantly opposing him that he felt exhausted. 

Taking the opportunity, she asked, “Has Symeon been opposing you a lot lately, and he even snatched your project partner?”

Elias hadn’t finished his sentence when Amanda interrupted, “I’m your wife; how could I not worry? You haven’t told me what’s really going on, and you’re leaving me here to fret alone.”
