Chapter 558 Don’t Take Away My Child
Suddenly, Casey felt an excruciating headache. It was as if her entire body was being torn apart.
“Don’t! Stop! Don’t take away my child! No-
Inside the studio, she writhed in pain, trapped in the nightmare.
The psychologist noticed something was amiss and promptly woke her up. “Miss Carter, wake up. It’s time. to wake up. We can discuss it in another session.”
When Casey heard the ding, her eyes snapped open as she gasped for breath, staring at the pristine ceiling.
She then noticed the psychologist sitting in front of her and realized that what had just happened was a dream, but were the events in the dream real?
Unable to contain her curiosity, Casey asked, “Dr. Davis, were the things I saw in the dream real?”
Dr. Davis, the psychologist, lowered his head and jotted something down while responding. “It appears to be true. I’ve discovered that a significant portion of your memory seems to have been hidden and erased through hypnosis.”
“What?”
seems
Casey sat up, finding it hard to believe her ears. Was I hypnotized and had a large part of my memory erased?
“Indeed, just as you heard. Also, the person who erased your memory is likely the one you saw during the hypnosis just now.”
That response gave Casey a shock, and her face filled with astonishment. The person she had seen… It was Eleanor.
Could it really be Eleanor?
Upon reflection, she felt it made sense. Eleanor harbored such intense hatred toward her that it wouldn’t be surprising for her to resort to such measures.
However, Casey couldn’t comprehend why Eleanor would abandon her child and erase this portion of her
memory.
After leaving the psychologist’s office, Casey couldn’t stop thinking about the content of the hypnosis
session.
If Eleanor had indeed done something like that, she wanted to understand why.
Unconsciously, she arrived at the door of her rented house.
She took out her key to open the door but found her father, Philip, and stepmother, Eleanor, standing outside the door.
How did they end up here?
Casey hadn’t yet grasped the situation when Philip spotted her. “Casey!”

“Why are you here?”
Since Casey still harbored deep resentment toward her father and didn’t particularly want to engage with him, she walked past him, intending to open the door and enter.
Philip appeared displeased. “You have a villa to call your home. Why are you living in a rental? Have you. lost your mind?”
“Are you here just to lecture me? If yes, then you should return home. I have indeed lost my mind.”
After speaking, Casey opened the door and headed inside. However, Philip pushed it open before she could close the door and followed her in.
As soon as Philip stepped into the house, he looked around disdainfully. “Can you adapt to living in a place like this? You’re usually so picky. How can you stand living in this dreadful place?”
Despite having numerous complaints about his daughter, she was still his flesh and blood. How could he bear to let her reside in this cramped rental house?
Casey grew impatient. “If you have something to do, then leave. I still need to cook.”
“You cook? You’re cooking now? Can you even cook?” Philip thought he had heard a joke as he had never seen his daughter cook.
With a sneer, Casey rebuked, “With no parents, how would I survive if I didn’t cook?”
“What did you say? What do you mean by ‘with no parents? Do you think I’m dead too?” Philip became furious.
Meanwhile, Eleanor, who had remained silent until now, finally spoke up. “Dear, why are you getting angry? Casey is still a child and is just throwing a tantrum. You should-“:
Before she could finish her sentence, Casey interrupted her. “Do you have the right to speak here? Who permitted you to enter my home? You drove me out of my home, and now you want to take over my rental house. Don’t you think you’re being too overbearing? Do you really think no one knows what you’ve done?”
Eleanor’s heart trembled as soon as these words left Casey’s mouth. She immediately thought of what had happened to Casey’s child, but that couldn’t be, She had the psychiatrist hypnotize Casey and completely erase those memories so Casey couldn’t possibly know it was her doing.
“W-What nonsense are you talking about? What did I do? Don’t make baseless accusations!” Eleanor was clearly flustered.
On the other hand, Philip observed his daughter’s attitude and didn’t appreciate it. He reprimanded her, “Why are you still acting this way? How can you speak to your aunt Eleanor with such a tone? I thought you would have reflected on your behavior after being away for so long, but it seems you’re still the same!”
“What do I need to reflect on? You should be the one reflecting. Your wife is having secret meetings with other men, and your son is calling someone else ‘Daddy. Yet, here you are, doubting your daughter’s loyalty. What should I reflect on with you as a father? You deserve to be cuckolded. You deserve to be betrayed!”
Eleanor struck Casey’s face with a resounding slap, attempting to silence her and prevent her from saying anything further.
