Alavin left Stormcast under the cover of night, traversing the wilderness to return to the Cloudveil Woods, but now their duo had become a trio, with Mariela joining them.
Mariela had not anticipated that Alavin would uncover the culprit of past crimes so swiftly, nor connect the dots of the entire affair so unbelievably. She was certain the Chained Spirit was involved, and naturally, she followed Alavin, curious about his intentions and whether he would ally with the Chained Spirit to endanger Cobalt Strike.
“Mariela, you seem quite knowledgeable about the past events. Did your mentor tell you?” Alavin was no longer nervous as he entered the forest. With Godfred, the Master Mage, by his side, not only could he travel comfortably, but he could also hunt Magi-Monsters to refine his newly acquired Combat Magic.
“What are you trying to say?” Mariela remained as cool and aloof as ever. Her steps were light. It was almost as if she was gliding as she followed the sprinting Alavin.
“Do you know what the ancient sword is called?”
“Immortal Edge!”
“Are you familiar with Watchful Shore?”
“I know of a secret buried there, nothing more.”
“When Cobalt Strike joined forces with Stormcast to seek the Immortal Edge, was it only the Grand Elder involved, or were there others?”
“What are you trying to say?” Mariela glanced at Alavin, who seemed to be strolling casually, cutting through the branches and underbrush ahead of him.
“Just wondering.”
“You once said you hated your enemies but wouldn't hate Cobalt Strike.”
