KYLE’S POV.

“I'm all ears.” Her soft voice comes through. I clear my throat and adjust on my seat again.

“Um… I uh…” The back of my neck heats just as the thought of how she'd react after I say what I want to say. It's not a very pleasant thing and I can only hope she doesn't get too upset. My hand goes behind my head and I nervously scratch it. “I uh…”

“You…” She asks with raised brows, watching me intensely and following my every move with her eyes.

“Well… the thing is, I used to have feelings for Ashanti.” I drop the bomb and wait for its after effect.

One, two, three, ten moments go by and I expect Tessa to scream or scold me or start breaking things or do anything that people do to express anger and disappointment, but she does none of that. She's just sitting really calm and staring at me and that gets me really scared.

No reaction is usually a very bad sign.

“Did you hear what I just said?”

“Yeah.”

“And?”

“And nothing.” She shrugs.

“What do you mean nothing?”

“I mean nothing because I knew that.”

Now I'm confused. I tilt my head to the side and give her a critical look that makes her chuckle.

“What the hell do you mean by that?”

“Well… the thing is, Ashanti always told me about how nice you were to her when we just got here. How you treated her with so much care and concern at the training arena, how you showed up at the lounge to steal her away each time she was called up to serve other men and many other instances I can't quite remember anymore. When she explained all these things to me, I figured that you like her and tried to make her understand her but she wouldn't have it. So yeah…” Her shoulders rise and fall. “I knew.” There's no trace of jealousy or annoyance in her voice. The smile on her face is just as genuine as every other smile she has ever given me and she looks okay with it.

I am so flabbergasted, it makes me chuckle.

I turn my head to the side and chuckle in complete disbelief. A girl can't be this sweet and understanding. The Moon goddess is definitely playing games with me.

“What's funny?”

I instantly whip my head in her direction and shake it.
