“Thank you very much for the information Doctor Henry,” I tell the doctor over the phone and hang up. I calmly drop the phone on the table before me and lean against the backrest of the chair I'm seated on, eyes closed and my fingers massaging my forehead as I sigh heavily.

She did take me for a fool, didn't she?

I don't know where she gets her audacity from, but this is too much and I'm not going to spare her this time around.

A knock on the door makes me snap my eyes open. A few seconds after I signal whoever it is to come in, the door opens, revealing Kyle who steps into the office, followed by his mate, Tessa, who is also Ashanti's best friend. The moment she sets her eyes on me, she stops in her tracks and bows respectfully.

“Good day, Alpha Reagan.” She greets me while Kyle simply gives me a curt nod and comes to meet me at the table.

“Good day, Tessa. You may lift your head.”

“Thank you, Alpha.” She does as told and follows Kyle's footsteps. Soon, the two mates are seated before me and a wave of envy and regret washes through me when I notice how happy and peaceful their relationship is.
