Her words are so heart breaking. She was sick but didn't want to tell me because she did want to be a bother to me. She only felt that way because of how I've been treating her ever since she showed up. I don't have time for her and even when we're together, I'm cold and distant… acting like I don't like being in her presence.

“Selena.” I croak, taking her little hands in mine. She looks up at me with her sunken sorrowful eyes and a downpour of guilt falls over my head, soaking me from head to toe. “You're not a nuisance. You have every right to call me when you're ill. It's my duty to take care of you in times like this. Please, don't ever do this again, okay?” My heart breaks into ever smaller pieces when she nods her head in agreement.

“I won't.”

“Thank you. That said…” I gently put her hands back on her laps and heave myself up from the bed. “I'm taking you to the hospital right now.”

“No!” She denies flatly, shaking her head and putting on a crying look. “No. Please no. I don't want to go back to the hospital.”

“But you're unwell, Selena. You need to get checked up. We can't let this fever get more serious than it already is.”

“I'm going to be fine.”

“No, you are not!”

“Alpha Reagan please.” She burst I to tears. A reaction which shocks me to the bone. I pause, staring down at her crying face. It feels like I'm in a trance. “I don't want to go back there. Please don't take me back to the hospital.” Her palms her joined before her face as she looks up at me. “Please. You can ask the pack doctor to come over like you used to do back then. Just don't take me back to the hospital. I'm begging you.”

First, she keeps away the fact that she's sick from me because she doesn't want to bother me. Now, she doesn't want me to take her to the hospital.

Selena was never this complicated before she dissapeared.

“Alright then. Fine. I'll call a doctor over.” I lower myself on the spot I just vacated on the bed. “But you have to promise not hide your illness from me next time. Never hesitate to let me know when you are sick or when you need anything. Okay?” She stares at me with her glassy eyes.

“Am I really important to you?” Her voice is a crying mess.
