Charlie didn't know who Loreen's cousin was, but he didn’t find it weird to bump into an arrogant rich kid o r two since he was in Eastcliff. The place was known for having a lot of rich people, and eight or nine out of ten over-privileged rich kids would turn out to be obnoxious and cocky.
When he and Loreen arrived at the entrance of the Thomas family’s house, the front porch and garage were already full of all kinds of luxury cars. 6
Two men were warmly welcoming and greeting the guests outside the door, and Loreen hurried forward and said, "Dad, uncle, let me introduce you to my friend from Aurous Hill, Charlie Wade."
The men sized Charlie up, and Loreen’s uncle replied," I haven't heard of any Wade family members in
Aurous Hill."
Loreen quickly explained, "Oh, Charlie is not from any family. He was my college mate." 7
Back then, Lord Wilson signed Charlie up into a one-year program at Aurous University where he was not only Claire’s classmate but also Loreen's. 5
Loreen didn’t state that Charlie was Claire's husband because she didn't want to burn her bridge. In case she really had the chance to develop a relationship with Charlie one day and bring him home, it would be
very awkward if her family remembered him as
Claire's husband. 4
Loreen's uncle donned a somewhat dismissive expression when he heard that Charlie was Loreen's college mate. He uttered, "Since he is your college mate, let him go in and take a seat then."
Then, Loreen’s father leaned in and whispered," Loreen, I just heard your cousin say that Mr. Golding will come later. You must grab the opportunity to get t o know him." 7
However, after staying in Aurous Hill for such a long time, Loreen hadn’t even seen the company's chairman in person, so Javier gradually lost his interest in courting the Wade family member. 9
After spending more than half a year in Aurous Hill without success, he even thought about bringing Loreen back to Eastcliff to marry one of the rich kids here.
It just so happened that his nephew came in and said delightfully that he managed to invite one of the young masters of the Golding family over, so Javier felt that this was a good opportunity for his daughter.
However, Loreen had no interest in the Golding family at all.
In fact, she didn't even care about the mysterious young master of the Wade family. After Charlie rescued her, all she thought was Charlie, and she did not consider any other man.
