The Man in Power After Being Married into Her Family novel Chapter 1874

Isaac was following closely beside Carmen with a very respectful attitude.

When Charlie was still a few metres away from her, Carmen smiled and said, "Oh, Charlie! I have not seen you for so many years. You have grown up into such a fine young boy now!"

Charlie looked at Carmen and he could recall some remnants of the memories that he had from his childhood by looking at her face.

So, Charlie laughed slightly before he said, "I'm going t o be twenty-seven years old soon. I'm no longer a young boy!"

Carmen had a very doting and affectionate look on her face as she smiled and said, "Oh! You really look so much like your father! You are really a chip off the old block!"

Charlie nodded before he smiled and said, "Aunt, it seems as though you've not changed much from how you were in the past."

Carmen laughed before she said, "More than ten to twenty years have already passed by in the blink of an eye. I'm about to turn fifty soon, so how can I possibly still look the same as I was before?"

At this time, Isaac had already carefully pulled out the chair on the other end of the table for Carmen.

When Carmen was taking her seat, she quickly glanced towards Charlie’s direction. She realized that Charlie was still sitting down. He did not even bother t o stand up before she took her seat. Therefore, she could not help but felt a little dissatisfied.

According to etiquette rules, when at the dining table, the younger generation should stand up and wait respectfully when their elders arrive at the dining table.

If their elder was speaking, then the younger generation would have to bend over and lower his head to listen carefully to what their elder was saying.

If their elder was taking their seat, then the younger generation would have to wait for their elder to be seated and the younger generation could only sit down once indicated by their elder.

However, Charlie had simply sat on his chair all the way, not even bothering to move or stand up at all.

Carmen could not help but feel a little furious and frustrated.

Under such circumstances, if Carmen wanted to get a share of the properties and inheritance, then she would have to obtain Lord Wade's absolute support to be able to get her hands on the inheritance.

Therefore, she would always look up to Lord Wade and obey all his instructions and commands.

She was usually a very haughty and arrogant person who did not attach any importance to anyone at all. She was also the kind of person who dared to go against anyone who dared to confront her. However, the only person that Carmen did not dare to disobey was Lord Wade.

On the contrary, she would always go all out to do everything that Lord Wade asked of her just so she could satisfy him and make him happy.

Therefore, she also thought to herself, I have to ensure that I do everything that my father asks of me perfectly this time! I shouldn't worry about whether I will be able to convince Charlie to return to the Wade family or not for the time being. Instead, I should at least focus on getting Charlie to agree to come back to the Wade family mansion to spend the new year with Lord Wade!

As she thought about this, Carmen suppressed the dissatisfaction that she felt for Charlie and she simply smiled as she said, "Charlie, you must have suffered a lot in Aurous Hill throughout all these years. Everyone in the family really misses you after not seeing you in such a long time. Have you ever thought about when you would want to come home to take a look and see everyone?"
