Helen could not help but laugh out loud. "Hahaha!
What kind of dream is that?"
Sophie smiled as she said, "The setting in my dream seemed to be by the bank of Yardi River, the place I used to go to fly kites when I was a kid."
As she spoke, Sophie said again, "Don't you think that dreams are very strange? I was a young lady in my dreams, but I did not feel that it was out of sorts when I was dreaming."
Helen nodded. "What is so strange about it? You'll always be very invested in most dreams that seem to b e out of sorts when you are dreaming, and you'll only feel that it is completely absurd after you wake up."
As she spoke, she sighed softly as she continued saying, "Sigh... I do not even know how many absurd and weird dreams I've had in my life. I dreamt that a dead person was still alive, and I even dreamt that I changed how I lived..."
Sophie looked at Helen, and when she saw the regretful expression that could never be erased from her face, she could not help but ask, "Mom, do you regret marrying my father?"
Helen was slightly ashamed, and she immediately
smiled wryly as she said, "If that girl who was about the same age as you back then would have known that she would be unhappy and unwilling for a lifetime by marrying that man, she certainly would not marry him. However, if you were to ask that girl this question when she has a daughter who is about the same age as her, her answer would certainly be that she did not regret it.” 2
As soon as Sophie heard these words, her eyes flushed red.
She understood the meaning behind her mother's words.
To her mother herself, she regretted marrying her father.
However, if her mother were to take her into consideration, and since her mother had given birth t 0 her and her brother because she had married her father, her mother did not have any regrets.
However, her mother’s true love in her whole life was buried under this sentence, stating that she did not regret it.
Sophie could not help but feel very touched, and she said, "Mom... thank you..."
Helen smiled as she said, “Silly girl. What are you thanking me for?"
She was extremely happy as she looked at Charlie, and she blurted out, "Benefactor! It’s really you!"
Charlie looked at Sophie, and he had a blank expression on his face as he said, "Miss Schulz, please take a step back and make way."
Sophie did not understand why, but she obediently took a step backward as she subconsciously asked, " Benefactor, are you coming in?"
Charlie did not say anything. Instead, he simply dragged Sheldon out from behind the wall next to the door as he pulled Sheldon in front of him.
Sophie did not have time to see Sheldon's face immediately. She only saw that Charlie had dragged someone out from the blind spot next to him. Right after that...
There was a loud bang!
Sophie saw Charlie raising his foot as he kicked that man into the room with just one kick! 8
