Carmen hurriedly said, "Don't be in such a hurry. I'd like to trouble you with another matter. Tom's father would like to talk to him on the phone. Do you think that it’d be convenient for you?"
"Talk on the phone?" Charlie frowned before he glanced at Tom, who was kneeling on the ground in fear and trepidation, as he turned on the speaker directly and said, "How about this? Tell his father that he can talk to him over the phone, but he will only be able to talk to him for up to two minutes. Will that be fine?"
"Yes."
Very soon, Zacheus, who had received Carmen's reply, called Tom’s cell phone.
After Charlie answered the call, he immediately turned on the speakerphone as he handed the cell phone over to Tom.
Zacheus, who was on the other end of the line, asked tentatively, "Tom, are you there?"
When Tom heard his father's voice, he broke down emotionally as he cried and said, "Dad! Save me, Dad! There is a man here who wants to send me off to work as a crew member on a ship for three years! He will
not even allow me to get off the ship throughout the three years. Dad, please find a way to save me and bring me back!"
Zacheus said awkwardly, "Tom, I'm afraid that I might not be able to help you with this matter."
"What?!” Tom instantly broke down as he shouted out loud offhandedly, "Dad! I still have to attend Quinn's concert, and I'll have to prepare for my own concert next season! You cannot just abandon me, Dad!"
Zacheus, who was on the other end of the line, hurriedly pleaded, "Young Master Wade, this stubborn and mischievous son of mine must have really caused you trouble. I'll have to trouble you to discipline him 0 n my behalf in the future...”
Charlie laughed and asked him, "You seem to be very familiar with my aunt?”
Zacheus hurriedly said, "Yes... She has been my old classmate and old friend for many years now.” 2
Charlie snorted, and he laughed as it seemed as though he had seen right through them. After that, he said faintly, "You can actually make my aunt, who is extremely selfish and egocentric and cares for her
own image and reputation more than anything else, get off her high horse and put aside her hatred for me t o plead and intercede on your behalf in such a lowly and humble manner. I think that the relationship between the both of you should not be as simple as merely the relationship between old classmates and old friends. Will you suddenly end up becoming my aunt's husband one day?" 8
