No one would have expected that Charlie would change the ancestor worship ceremony which was held once every twelve years directly to once a year.
After all, even though the ancestor worship ceremony was significant, it was also a laborious and costly event in itself.
So, there was an older member of the Wade family's collateral family amongst the crowd who spoke up and said, "Charlie... The ancestor worship ceremony being held once every twelve years was a rule set by our ancestors. If you were to change it to once every year, it would be too frequent, right? I personally think that it might not be a good thing for us to disturb our ancestors’ peace too frequently! It would be a great disrespect to our ancestors if they are displeased!"
Charlie looked at him and said coldly, "It's precisely because it used to be held once every twelve years which is the reason why all of you with the last name Wade has long forgotten about your ancestors! All of you fled Eastcliff overnight when people said that they were going to dig up your ancestors' graves! Is that how you respect your ancestors?"
The old man's face suddenly flushed red, and he hurriedly shut his mouth.
When Charlie saw that the old man was not speaking, he questioned him, "Why aren't you saying anything?
Weren't you very good at speaking just now?"
After saying that, Charlie pointed at the Wade family's ancestral grave behind him and asked in a cold voice," Come. Come in front of our ancestors and explain properly about how exactly you showed respect to them?"
The old man was ashamed, and he said, "I... I was wrong..."
Charlie said coldly, "Don't tell me! Come out and tell it t o our ancestors yourself!”
The old man could only walk out from the crowd and face more than a hundred of the Wade family's ancestors’ graves as he said with great shame, "To the ancestors of the Wade family who are above, I, your unworthy grandson, Wilbur Wade, was wrong! I hope that you can forgive me!"
