Jasmine nodded shyly and mumbled," Actually... I'm mainly afraid I won’t do well and let you down, Master Wade..."
Charlie laughed good-naturedly. "That won't happen. Today is our seller's market. As long as you take out the Rejuvenating Pill, they’ll still go through thick and thin just to participate in the auction next year, even if we do a lousy job. You should be bold and confident! There's no need to worry whether you'll do good or bad.”
At his encouragement, the tense knot in Jasmine's heart came undone. Feeling better, she gave him a small nod and said determinedly, "Okay, Master Wade. I understand!"
Charlie hummed in approval. He recalled something and added, "By the way. Jasmine. I was originally planning to invite your grandfather to this auction today as a VIP. After thinking about it, you've just taken over Moore Group. I figured it's better to let you stand out and present yourself properly as the new head o f the Moore family on this occasion. It’d be too overwhelming for Lord Moore if I invited him, so I dismissed the idea. I hope you won't blame me for it."
Jasmine too had thought over this issue.
However, she had no intention to blame Charlie. From the way Charlie did things, h e would often consider everything from all aspects and look at the big picture.
Generally, he would deal with everything, even matters that he didn't have to be bothered with.
On this occasion, however, Charlie didn't
invite her grandfather to the auction for some reason. He didn't even invite other entrepreneurs in Aurous Hill with whom h e had a relatively intimate relationship with.
For instance, both Graham and Zeke were not here either.
Oonce Charlie explained his reasons, she understood his good intentions immediately.
Charlie originally helped her to secure her current position as the head of her family t o begin with. With her youth and the short amount of time she had been the family head, she couldn't compare to her grandfather in terms of contacts, fame and influence.
Aside from Kathleen, who was using a fake identity, there was Lord Wade, Chandler and an old queen from Northern Europe.
Charlie felt it was fine to have Lord Wade here. After all, Charlie was only assuming the position as the head of the Wade family substantially. In the eyes of the outside world, Lord Wade was still the head of the Wade family.
The Moore family and the Wade family were co-organizing this auction. It was only reasonable for the head of the Wade family to attend the auction as a VIP, since the head of the Moore family was the auctioneer.
Moreover, Charlie felt it would be a good opportunity to increase the Wade family's influence by having the head of the Wade family show his face in public more often.
As for Chandler and Northern Europe's old queen, they usually stayed more than tens o f thousands of miles away, and Charlie originally had very little interaction with them to begin with. It wouldn’t be easy for people to find him through both of them.
