The guard attempted to flee once he knew Jared was on to him, but Jared sent him flying with a palm strike before he could do so.
He spewed out a mouthful of blood and died on the spot.
“Come out now. What are you doing sneaking around and tricking me here?” Jared yelled.
“I can't believe you actually fell into our trap. It's clear that Ivasha is someone important to you!”
Xandros came out of hiding with his men, but Tigerus didn't show himself still.
“So, it's you.”
Jared frowned, an icy glint flashing across his eyes.
He had assumed that Tigerus was behind the plot given that a guard was sent to lure him out. Little did he expect the mastermind to be Xandros.
However, he couldn't figure out why the guard would follow Xandros' orders.
“We meet again, kid. In Imperial Beast City, you were protected by Ivasha, so I couldn't lay a finger on you. But here, there's no one to defend you now,” Xandros declared smugly.
Jared threw Xandros and his subordinates a glance. He couldn't help but sneer, “Tell all your men to come out. The few of you are no match for me at all.”
Xandros was briefly stunned. He then burst into hearty laughter. “How f*cking arrogant. You're nothing but a cultivator who has recently achieved Body Fusion Realm, yet you dare to spew such words? I alone am enough to beat the cr*p out of you. If you dropped to your knees and apologize to me, swearing that you would stay away from Ivasha and leave Imperial Beast City, I would consider sparing your life.”
“Very well. And if you apologize to me on your knees and get out of Imperial Beast City, I'll consider not holding you accountable for trying to trick me,” Jared retorted with a smirk.
“F*ck! You really do have a death wish.” Xandros waved his hand and ordered, “Get him!”
Six of Xandros' subordinates lunged at Jared without hesitation. All of them were handpicked bodyguards who had accompanied Xandros on his trip to Imperial Beast City.
Every single one of them had achieved Body Fusion Realm. Two, in particular, had reached Second Level Body Fusion Realm.
