“We will return the telepathic beast to you. We no longer want it. Now, release us at once,” Zander said to Catina.
However, Catina remained motionless, still holding Mayze down. Seeing this, Zander turned to Jared, realizing that only Jared’s words mattered at that moment.
“Tell me, what does the Soulless Hall want with the telepathic beast?” Jared asked Zander. Zander hesitated for a moment, furrowing his brows.
“Hmph! Tell me the truth, or else…” Catina intensified her aura, causing Mayze to let out a horrifying scream.
“I’ll tell you!” Zander hurriedly said. “There’s a traitor in the Soulless Hall. We need the telepathic beast to detect the traitor’s aura and find out where they are hiding.”
“A traitor?” Jared furrowed his brows, immediately thinking of Xanthus. “Is the traitor you mentioned, by any chance, Elder Fabrizio from the Soulless Hall?”
Zander was taken aback, disbelief filling his face as he looked at Jared. “How… do you know that?”
Jared narrowed his eyes slightly. “You don’t need to concern yourself with that. First, tell me, how did you all find out about Elder Fabrizio’s betrayal?”
“I cannot say,” Zander shook his head.
Jared instantly summoned the Dragonslayer Sword, placing it on Mayze’s shoulder.
“If you won’t say, then she shall meet her end…” Jared threatened.
“Zander, we mustn’t speak of it, or else the Soulless Hall will be finished. Elder Fabrizio’s betrayal has already put us in deep water. You mustn’t say anything further,” Mayze said.
Zander was filled with anxiety, caught in a dilemma.
