The Man's Decree novel Chapter 781

Chapter 781 History Of The Medicine God Sect

Once inside, Jared realized that the mountain was much larger than he’d anticipated. Everywhere he looked, there were countless buildings that filled the hollow mountain. Mapleton appeared minuscule when compared to the Medicine God Sect.

Furthermore, Jared noticed many ordinary citizens strolling around. He even caught sight of a group of children playing together not far away. These individuals were neither martial artists nor alchemists.

When Axton noticed the puzzled look on Jared’s face, he quickly explained, “Jared, the Medicine God Sect has more than ten thousand members. Despite our numbers, not everyone here is well-versed in the art of alchemy or martial arts. Truthfully, we are more like a large village than a sect.”

After Axton briefly explained the Medicine God Sect’s history, Jared finally realized that this sect wasn’t as fearsome as everyone painted it out to be.

Instead, the Medicine God Sect resembled a haven for refugees who’d stumbled upon this valley. Hence, they set up a place here and lived the rest of their lives in peace.

Although this place was well-concealed, they didn’t cut off all contact with the outside world. Gradually, a few martial artists who were tired of living a frenetic life, and a few individuals passionate about cultivation, joined their ranks.

It didn’t take long before the existing members picked up martial arts and cultivation. Around this time, the arcane array was set up. Since then, it has stood the test of time and hid the Medicine God Sect for over a few hundred years.

A hundred years ago, an elderly man made his way into the mountain. He was an individual highly skilled in medicine. Not only did he cure most of them, he even used alchemy to improve their health. Most importantly, his teachings greatly increased their life expectancies.

Quickly, many others began to learn about medicine and alchemy from him. Under his tutelage, many famed doctors and alchemists followed in his footsteps. Hence, most members of the Medicine God Sect lived long lives.
