The Marriage She Turned into War novel Chapter 107

The woman standing in front of me and glaring daggers at me was Joshua's older sister, Joanna Levine. Draped in luxury designer brands, all courtesy of Joshua, she exuded entitlement.

Joanna clearly saw Joshua's relationship with Abigail as her ticket to a life of wealth and status. Naturally, she wanted me, the legitimate husband, out of the picture as soon as possible. To her, I was nothing but an obstacle standing in the way of her brother becoming the rich CEO's husband.

It didn't take a genius to figure out why she was here. She had to have heard that her precious brother wasn't feeling well and rushed over, worried that something might happen to him. After all, if Joshua were to lose his golden ticket, her dream of endless handouts would crumble too.

The second Joanna spotted me, it was as if something had snapped in her. She launched into a tirade of accusations and insults, shouting as though her brother was Abigail's rightful husband and I was the shameless homewrecker clinging to a relationship I didn't belong in.

Her venom didn't faze me. I kept my voice cold and steady as I said, "Move."

I wasn't about to waste energy on her nonsense. After dropping the single word, I turned around, ready to leave.

But Joanna wasn't done. She stepped in front of me again, her glare icy and her voice dripping with malice.

"What are you pretending for, Samuel?" she spat. "Abigail doesn't love you anymore. Why are you still hanging on to her? Don't you have any dignity left as a man?"

Each word was calculated to cut deep.

I froze, momentarily stunned by her audacity. I stared at her, struggling to comprehend how she could say something so cruel, so confidently. What gave her the right?

Before I could reply, her expression shifted into something even nastier. Folding her arms, she sneered and said, "I heard that you're really sick—dying, even. Is that true?
