"Mr. Jigman?"
Hearing his name, I couldn't help but shake my head and let out a bitter laugh. What a small world.
But Sophia, who was still fuming, wasn't finished. "And guess what? You'll never believe who I saw at Hanson's branch office!"
My mind raced as I tried to make a guess. "Could it be… Joshua?"
"Bingo! It was Joshua!" Sophia's frustration only grew as she added, "When I walked in to drop off some things, I saw him chatting with Hanson, going on about his plans after starting there. The nerve of that man! He's shameless, always trying to worm his way into your life!"
Her words left me stunned.
I never thought that Joshua would go to Hanson's company. But thinking about it, it actually made sense. After all, I had seen them greeting each other before, and they often collaborated.
"Samuel, you're close with Mr. Jigman, aren't you? Why don't you tell him what kind of person Joshua really is?"
I calmed down, but I didn't know what to say.
I could only say softly, "Sophia, don't worry. It's Mr. Jigman's company. I'll explain things to him if necessary. As long as Joshua doesn't cause trouble or target me, it would be fine for us working in the same place."
"But..." Sophia's indignation was palpable.
"I just can't stand it! That scheming bastard keeps hovering around you!"
Sophia said with detest, "Do you really think it's a coincidence that Joshua managed to join Hanson's company? It was Abigail who pulled strings and used her connections to get him in, Samuel."
I was stumped by Sophia's words.
