The Marriage She Turned into War novel Chapter 164

Blair's sudden outburst left me completely bewildered. I had no idea what I'd done to set her off like that. Watching her leave in a huff, I took a sip of my coffee and decided to leave too.

Back home, I continued to throw myself into songwriting for Hanson. Three days later, I sent him ten song drafts. He was so excited that he immediately video-called me.

On the video call, Hanson's eyes lit up with excitement. "Samuel, you've done an amazing job! These drafts are incredible. With these, we're all set!" he said eagerly.

I grinned, deeply grateful for the opportunity Hanson had given me. It was something I truly cherished.

After hanging up, Hanson immediately transferred the payment to me. Watching the numbers in my account grow, I felt a wave of relief and confidence wash over me.

The money was just a drop in the bucket compared to Abigail's wealth, but it gave me the assurance I needed to help Lana and her friends. Now, if any emergency came up, I could step in and give them the help they needed.

With that confidence, I packed up my things, ready to head to the hospital. Little did I know that as soon as I reached the lobby on the first floor, I bumped into an old friend—Russell Miles.

We had known each other for years, and he was pretty close with Abigail too. The moment he saw me, he froze, staring at me with hesitation.

"You… are you Samuel?" he asked, his voice filled with uncertainty.

I glanced at him and nodded with a smile. "Russell, good to see you again."
