The Marriage She Turned into War novel Chapter 176

Sometimes, I really doubted if Joanna had gone to school at all. Anybody who's received some basic education wouldn't be able to say things like that.

Joanna became displeased seeing that I didn't reply but only smiled calmly at her. She crossed her arms over her chest with a cold expression on her face. Raising her voice, she asked, "What are you laughing at? Did you hear what I said?"

I shook my head calmly. "My apologies, Ms. Levine. If you came to me because of this, I think you have come to the wrong person."

Hearing that, Joanna's expression changed minutely. She looked at me in shock and asked, "What… what are you saying?"

I shook my head calmly. "Right now, it isn't me who's clinging to Abigail and refusing to let go. It's Abigail who is refusing to divorce me. If you have the time to come and disturb me, then you should go to your dearest sister-in-law to discuss this issue."

As expected, when those words left my lips, Joanna's expression visibly darkened. She knew that she could never speak to Abigail about this!

Firstly, Abigail would never agree to her request. After all, she was only Joshua's sister. What right did she have to make decisions for Abigail?

Secondly, Abigail had a nasty temper and wasn't someone Joanna dared to cross.

When Joanna first found out that Abigail was in a relationship with Joshua, she tried to cause trouble for her in an attempt to gain higher ground in their relationship.

However, Abigail wasn't having any of it. She had turned and walked away without any hesitation.

Since then, Abigail hadn't bothered to deal with Joanna again.

That experience had significantly traumatized Joanna. From that day onward, she hadn't dared to cause any trouble for Abigail. Even if there were any issues, she could only keep her mouth shut.

It was only when Abigail wasn't home that Joanna would dare to appear and act out.

Now that she found out that our divorce still hadn't gone through and realized that Abigail had transferred a huge sum of money to me, she was becoming anxious.
