The Marriage She Turned into War novel Chapter 194

What I didn't expect was that Abigail actually agreed to my request.

What was she thinking? I still couldn't understand why her change happened so quickly!

Forget it. I wasn't going to overthink it. After all, I was not a mind reader.

She had so many moods and thoughts that would shift from one moment to the next. All I could do was focus on doing my part and avoid provoking her. Otherwise, who knew what she might do if she got upset?

I took a few days off to rest, planning to regain my energy before heading back to work. But the next day, I received a call from Sophia.

"Samuel, what's going on? Why haven't you come to the office?" Sophia's tone was full of concern and worry.

I smiled softly and replied, "There's nothing urgent, and I've been feeling a little under the weather, so I decided to take a few days off before heading back."

Sophia's tone immediately changed. She asked urgently, "Samuel, where are you feeling unwell? Do you need me to find a doctor for you?"

I smiled and gently declined her offer. "No, I just haven't rested well enough."

"Oh, thank goodness." Sophia sighed in relief. I could hear her smiling as she said, "Then I'll wait for you to come back to the office. I have a few questions I need to ask you."

After a day of rest, I felt much better. I had enough energy to handle things again. Thus, I arranged to meet Sophia at a nearby café.

When I saw her walk in and scan the room, she didn't immediately spot me. So, I raised my hand and waved. "Sophia, I'm over here."

As soon as she heard my voice, she lifted her head and looked in my direction. When she walked over, I could clearly see that the way she looked at me had changed.

She sat down and stared at me in shock. "Oh my God! Samuel, what happened to you?"
