After some time, Sophia was called away by Hanson to help with something.
I sat in the office and took a short break before quickly immersing myself in work again. I knew that being idle would make it easy for me to start overthinking, so I had no choice but to keep myself busy. Only doing so would make me feel a little better.

I looked up at him and immediately knew he had something to discuss with me. So, I walked over and asked, "Do you have something to tell me?
Hearing that, Dr. Boone's expression grew serious as he said solemnly, "I need to talk to you about Lana's recent condition."
The specialist hired by Abigail had prescribed a specific medication for Lana to help her recuperate. Once her body recovered sufficiently to handle the operation, she would be able to undergo the surgery.
Hearing his words, my chest tightened with anxiety.
