The Marriage She Turned into War novel Chapter 236

"I'm not leaving!" Blair bit her lip and shook her head as she refused, looking absolutely aggrieved.

"Samuel, the reason I'm here is to help you see through Abigail's facade! She doesn't love you at all. She's just using you for her amusement. What's the point of staying with someone like her? Can't you just be honest with yourself?"

Seeing her aggrieved expression, I didn't even know how to respond to her.

I was not the one against divorce, nor was I the one wanting to prolong this failed marriage.

What could I possibly do if Abigail just wouldn't let go?

In the end, everything still had to go according to her terms. I didn't even have the chance to resist.

"That's enough, Ms. Shepherd." I shook my head, already losing the desire to continue this conversation with her. "If you want to stay that much, then help yourself. I'm leaving."

I turned around and got ready to leave the house for some fresh air.

Right as I was leaving, Abigail suddenly returned home. She came through the door, then stared at me and Blair with a sharp gaze, her expression grim.

For some reason, I felt a pang of guilt, as though I had been caught red-handed in my wrongdoings. But I had done nothing wrong. Why should I feel guilty over this?

I quickly looked up to meet Abigail's gaze, a faint smile appearing on my lips as I said nonchalantly, "Oh, you're home. Why are you so early today?"

She gave me a stern glare, then frowned and asked, "What's wrong? Did I come back too soon and interrupt your fun?"

I was stunned momentarily, unsure how to respond to her question.
